Celebrate your 30th birthday by spending a fun weekend away with family and friends. We have great suggestions for how to spend your birthday in Hawaii with fun activities and sights to see all mapped out for your ease. The hardest part of your weekend away will be returning home in the end!

Say Aloha to Hawaii

Hawaii is one of those gorgeous, idyllic vacation spots that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. With some of the most renowned beaches in the world, great outdoor activities and super fresh seafood, it's the perfect and stylish way to ring in your thirties. Be sure to say a big "Mahalo" to your loved ones for spending your 30th birthday in a tropical paradise. And, for making this birthday one to remember for years to come.

Sights to See: Hawaii by Air

Hawaii is full of a variety of natural beauties from volcanoes to lush forests.

Take in the sights by booking day trips with your group through the hotel's concierge. Simply let them know what you're interested in doing and they can recommend good companies to go with and even will book it for you.

Here are some fun activities to consider:

Steps
  • Hawaii By Air

  • Take a helicopter tour of the Volcanoes. You get so close to them you can see the hot lava bubbling up from the craters, and you also fly over beautiful waterfalls and forests.

    Go Hiking

  • Take a hiking tour of the forests, beaches, and dormant volcanoes.

    Explore Under Water

  • Try snorkeling or scuba diving in pristine blue waters to watch the colorful fish.

    Catch a Wave

  • If you've never done it before, sign up for some surfing lessons – it's now or never!

    Be One With Nature

  • Lots of companies offer serene horseback rides along the beaches and forest.

    Fore!

  • Grab a tee time at one of the famous golf courses on the islands.

    Honor History

  • Visit Pearl Harbor – you can see the sunken ship ruins as well as visit the memorial museum dedicated to honoring that day in history.

    Set Sail

  • Take a sailing day trip around the island's warm waters.

Celebrate Your Birthday in True Hawaiian Spirit: The Luau

There are two great culinary creations that have come out of Hawaii: the luau and Asian-Fusion cuisine.

Luckily, if you're there for the weekend you can experience both at their finest.

Steps
  • The Luau

  • Go through your hotel to find an authentic luau dinner.

  • Try venturing out of Waikiki into the North Shore of Oahu where it's less touristy and more local. Then, don your finest Hawaiian shirt and get ready to watch a pig get roasted on a spit and watch traditional Hawaiian dance performances, including the hula.

  • Ring in the big 3-0 while listening to the soft sounds of a ukulele harmonize with the rolling waves of the ocean.

    Visit Roy's

  • Roy Yamaguchi is the Hawaiian chef credited with starting the Asian-Fusion food genre twenty years ago at his Honolulu restaurant, Roy's.

  • He is a true master and innovator of food and his culinary creations are not to be missed. Don't forget to finish your dinner off with a molten hot chocolate soufflé - Roy's is famous for them!

Thank You Brunch

Steps
  • Ice a round layer cake with white frosting.

  • End your tropical weekend away with a big farewell brunch with family and friends.

  • Toss fun Halloween sprinkles on top.

  • Enjoy some of Hawaii's finest coffee and send guests home with a small token of your appreciation.

  • Add a few ghost bobbling toppers for a silly spooky cake!

  • Two ideas to consider are a gourmet bag of coffee tied with a ribbon and a thank you tag, or a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts that are one of Hawaii's finest treats.
