Chapter 11 Margaritas
Make a punch bowl full of this easy and inexpensive recipe for marvelous margaritas.

  • 1/2 Bottle (the one that had the Tequila) Fresh Lime Juice, pour in

  • 1/3 Bottle (the one that had the Tequila In it) Orange Juice, pour in

  • Some Lime Wedges

Steps
  • Combine all ingredients except for the salt.

  • Serve over ice.

Selecting a Venue for a Girls Night
Check Out More Fun Girls Night Out Ideas:
Check Out More Fun Girls Night Out Ideas:
Girls Night Out
  • Entertain in your home or apartment, if possible, because renting a party venue or space can cost thousands of dollars.
  • Save money by planning your party on an "off-night" at your favorite local watering hole if your home is simply too small (we live in tiny apartments in New York City, so we can relate!).
  • Book your party on a Tuesday or Wednesday because restaurants, bars, and catering halls will likely give you a discount. If that's not possible with your schedule, try to reserve space for Friday or Sunday, which are often cheaper than Saturdays.
Recessionista Rule
  • Be true to yourself and your style, and have fun.
  • As the old cliche goes, money certainly can't buy happiness!

Save on Girls Night Food and Drink
Cheap Eats

Fill up your guests with food that is delicious, semi-healthy, and inexpensive, like:
  • Hummus with homemade pita chips and fresh veggies (see recipe above).
  • Mini-burgers or sliders.

Cocktails for Coins

Save money and time- by making a big batch of our "Chapter 11 Margaritas." How's that for a good cocktail?

Girls Night Decor: Simple Florals and Music
 Florals to Fawn Over
  • Putting flowers around your house or apartment is a nice touch if you are entertaining there.
  • Don't worry - this doesn't have to break the bank!  Just think outside of the box, or shall we say vase?
  • Use empty wine or liquor bottles as vases (Patron tequila bottles have an especially nice presentation), which will add character and save you money. Just steam off the label, and presto!
  • Put flowers in old spaghetti sauce containers or mason jars.
  • Choose flowers that are in season. Tulips are affordable in the spring, but getting them in December may require a second mortgage!
Entertainment Made Easy
  • In this day and age of mp3 players, there is NO NEED to waste money on a DJ or band, whether you’re entertaining at home or out at another venue!
  • Simply take the time to come up with a rocking playlist and plug your i-Pod into a tiny speaker or oversized speaker that guests will love. If you don't have speakers, just play the music from your laptop or computer.
