 New Moon Party Ideas
It's a New Moon for Twilight fans.

Edward walks out on Bella, Bella turns biker, and Jacob picks up the pieces with brute, beastly strength. Sounds like a young Hollywood party! Twilight movie fans thirsting for more drama are quenched with the premiere of New Moon. Instead of a posh Cullen-style fete to celebrate this new chapter of the Twilight series, go with Bella's adrenaline junky ways. Take it outside at night, serve biker bar food bites, and set up extreme games for those who dare to engage in the fun.

New Moon Invitations
Be authentic and send an official New Moon E-card to invite friends to the party.

  • The Twilight promoters have thought of everything. On their official website, you can customize a cool online invite or E-card and email it to your guests.
  • If you feel like partying online with fellow fans, check out the community section with all their social media links.
  • Here's a little taste of New Moon!

New Moon Party Décor
While the New Moon title ties into Bella's attempt at life without Edward and Jacob's werewolf ways, you can get literal with the moon idea and decorate your party by incorporating tasteful thematic items.

  • Look for handsome wrought iron candleholders with a moon motif and use them to add an ambience on tabletops.
  • Give pillar candles a charming moon accent by inserting a straight pin into the side of the candle and hanging a moon charm from the pin like I did in this holiday video.
  • Go for a full-moon effect by hanging round paper lanterns above the party space.
  • Brand the party with official Twilight candles in glass holders that have the Cullen and Volturi crest and more on the side.
  • Use New Moon party supplies with Bella, Edward, and Jacob's images on them.
  • For more ideas check out the decor in this Twilight Themed Birthday Party article.

New Moon Party: Biker Bar Food Bites
With Bella being a moto-chick, you can serve a menu of biker bar food bites that keep in theme and are great for a party.

  • Sliders - Cook up mini hamburgers and serve them on dinner rolls.
  • Mini-Hogs - a.k.a. Pigs in a Blanket are ideal.
  • Mini Steak Tostadas - Cut cooked steak into small strips and place on a round tortilla chip. Top with cheese, guacamole, or sour cream.
  • Chili in Corn Chip Cups - Serve chili topped with melted cheese in Frito's Scoops, a corn chip cup.
  • Salsa Boracha - try this awesome salsa recipe that uses beer as an ingredient.
  • Washington Beer - Offer brew crafted from Washington State where the Twilighters dwell for the over 21 crowd and soft drinks for the Twi-teens.

New Moon Party: Activities and Play List
Pick up where the action left off in this movie and rent an extreme inflatable or play a biker themed Wii game to keep all entertained at the party.

  • Extreme Inflatables - Rent an inflatable rock wall or obstacle course to give guests an adrenaline rush! Make sure the inflatable is in a well-lit area and assign or hire someone to supervise the rock climbing if necessary.
  • Motorcylcle Wii Game - Based on the real MotoGP Championship, MotoGP for the Wii let's gamers race virtual motorcycles in cool exotic locations.
  • Twilight Music -Twilight author Stephanie Meyer's play lists have become somewhat of a cult fascination. Crank tunes from her list as well as the New Moon movie soundtrack for the ultimate Twilight atmosphere.
  • The note below precedes the New Moon play list on Meyer's website:

(Note: this loosely follows the story sequence. I'm going to put a B, E, or J after each song, so you'll know who's perspective I'm hearing it from (that might help you categorize them into where they fit in the novel). Mostly B's of course, since she's telling the story.)

  • "Do you realize?" - The Flaming Lips (B)
  • "Papercut" - Linkin Park (B)
  • "Hyper Music" - Muse (B)
  • "Apocalypse Please" - Muse (B)
  • "Time Stands Still" - The All-American Rejects (B)
  • "Empty Room" - Marjorie Fair (B)
  • "Unwell" - Matchbox Twenty (B)
  • "Pain" - Jimmy Eat World (B)
  • "Ride" - The Vines (B)
  • "Fix You" - Coldplay (J)
  • "Blueside" - Rooney (B)
  • "Over My Head (Cable Car)" - The Fray (B)
  • "Going Under" - Evanescence (B)
  • "Tautou" - Brand New (B)
  • "Be My Escape" - Relient K (B)
