Are you a Carrie with a fondness for fabric flower accents or a Charlotte who's always impeccable in a preppy sweater set?
Pay tribute to the signature style of all the Sex and the City characters in celebration of their new movie! Host a Sex and the City Fashion Swap Party for an upbeat theme party!
Invite guests to bring wardrobe items that they no longer wear, but are reminiscent of Sex and the City fashions, to swap with other party guests.

At a Fashion Swap Party, each guest brings an item or two of clothing, accessories, or jewelry from their own collection that they are willing to part with.
We're not talking about junk drawer leftovers or back-of-the-closet threads. These items should be in good shape and still have a current style.
Because this party is based on Sex and the City, the items should be inspired by a character from the show. Given the varied styles of the characters, this should be easy.
After a couple of cocktails, each guest gets up and gives a "sales pitch" about their items while the other guests take notes. Then, the swapping begins!

Carrie's fashion motto seems to be: anything looks good perched on a pump.
What works for this character's style is that she anchors flea market finds and offbeat outfits with an outrageously expensive pair of shoes or couture piece.
- Fabric flower pins
- Foil-stamped t-shirts
- Men's ties & vests
- Couture-look coats or shawls
- Avant-garde hats & kitsch purses
- Big baubles & gold chain necklaces

Lawyer by day, torch singer by night! Miranda's wardrobe includes handsome business ensembles as well as slinky evening numbers, and don't forget about the stain-proof "mom" wear.
- Swanky blouses
- Office-friendly jewelry & vintage trinkets
- Fun stretch tops and leggings
- Chic business briefcase
- Leather strap watch with a little sparkle

Ready to do "lunch" at a moment's notice, Charlotte's put-together style is both pretty and preppy. Think Park Avenue playful for this character.
- Sweet sweater sets
- Burberry plaids & houndstooth weaves
- Breezy summer wears
- Designer-look clutch
- Pearls and classic jewelry

Ever so chic, Samantha's style exudes confidence, sex, and the best Barney's has to offer. Sometimes a kitten, often a cougar, and always a tiger!
- Big fab bag
- Animal print accents
- Sophisticated sunglasses
- Earrings that make a statement
- Sexy tops with shiny accents

Get all the girls to bring over their under-used duds for a Sex and the City Themed Fashion Swap. Here is how to ensure fair play:
Steps
- Each guest receives a number when they arrive at the party.
- Numbers are chosen at random to determine whose turn it is to give their pitch.
- The guest pitches their item explaining which Sex and the City character the item is based on.
- Everyone takes notes during the pitch presentations.
- When the pitching ends the swap begins!
- The guest with the 1 (the first guest to arrive at the party or the host) gets first pick of the items.
- After guest 1 chooses an item to take home, guest 2 is up.
- When everyone has had a turn, guests can swap with each other or you can start again with guest 1 if there are more items.

nice site. love it.
