The new movie about "the little trash-collecting robot that could" is becoming a popular kid's birthday party theme.

Most moms appreciate a message with their animation and Wall-E certainly delivered. My kids (4 and 10 years old) have been begging me to see this movie and we finally did last night.

It's more of a concept piece, than say Pixar's "Toy Story," in that the first 15 minutes is devoted Wall-E picking up trash, collecting items like lighters and a Rubik's cube, and watching scenes from "Hello Dolly." Yes, a big push for "Hello Dolly" as a touchstone for simpler, happier times.

Tips
Close all
Wall-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) is the last trash-bot on Earth whose job is to pick up all the refuse left by humans. He's a lonely little guy, until a spaceship lands and drops-off Eva, a beautiful white robot with the directive to find a life-form. Wall-E happens to have a little green sprout which Eva brings back to the humans up in space and they all end up happily ever after back on Earth (after a robot war and the humans learn how to walk again...you'll have to see the movie)."

You'll need :

  • Green sprouts in pots on the party table.

  • Recycled crafts table using items like egg cartons, plastic bottle caps or these ideas.

  • Play the soundtrack from "Hello Dolly."

  • Serve organic pizza and similar foods.

  • Give seed packets for party favors along with a Wall-E kaleidoscope and tatoos.

  • Purchase a robot kit for the kids to put together.

Wall-E Messages

Don't litter or you'll have to move to outer space.

Rent "Hello Dolly."

Serious Message

The real message of this movie is simple: love each other and the planet Earth.

Not a bad theme for a party that celebrates life.
