Pet Shower Tips
Before planning your pet shower, consider the personality of your pet and follow these tips for party success.

Pamper Your Pet with More Fun Ideas:
Throw A Pet Party!

  • If your pet is a puppy with lots of energy or a cat with an amenable temperament who has proven that he or she is well behaved in a crowd, then invite one and all to the party.

  • Some young pets have been around few animals or people. Consider giving your pet a "test run" with a couple of folks to be sure that a party is right for the animal at that time.

  • For rescue or adopted pets, give them ample time to settle into their new home and family. Know their history with people and other animals. Some pets may be perfectly fine around women and then have a very strong reaction to men, or vice versa.

  • If you are inviting children, make sure that your pet and any others on the guest list do not bite, scratch, or have issues with kids. When in doubt, keep the kids at home or do not invite the pet in question.

  • Let guests know what to expect so they can do the best thing for their pet. Give as much info as possible in the invitation as to the location, time, other species that may be invited, or issues that you as a pet mom or dad would want to know about.

Playful Pet Shower for your New Dog
Invite your best four-legged friends and their peeps over to your home for a doggie pet shower that's all about "playtime."

Be sure to read "Pet Party Tips" to help ensure the happiness of your pet and others at the shower.

1. Dog Party Invitations:

  • Let guests know that this party is all about showering your dog with fun by sending a Playful Pup Invitation

2. Playful Dog Decor and Party Supplies:

  • Go from the ground up with your decor so the pups will be able to appreciate the festivities.

  • Bring in the "playful" theme by setting out plenty of dog toys on brightly colored picnic blankets. Add an element of fun with a few beach balls around the party space.

3. Dog Treats and Party Favors

  • As a party memento, give guest pets custom dog cookies with the new pet's face on it to take home and enjoy.

  • Put together a favor pack with a chewy pig ear and a playful rope toy for guests to take home.

4. For the Peeps at a Dog Party

  • Use a cookie cutter shaped like a dog bone to cut out bread for sandwiches or make cookies.

  • Buy new dog bowls to serve cookies or snacks in for the humans at the party.

  • Be sure to designate the bowls of "people food" and bowls of "pet food" with a little sign or tent card in front of the item.

Fabulous Feline Pet Shower
Cat lovers adore their feline friends and what better way to celebrate them by hosting a fabulous kitty pet shower.

Be sure to read "Pet Party Tips" to help ensure the happiness of your pet and others at the shower.

1. Charming Cat Party Invitations

  • Make your own chic invitations accented with cat charms by cutting black gloss cardstock to fit inside small envelopes. Materials can be purchased at a craft store.

  • Punch 2 holes near the top of the invitation and thread black ribbon through.

  • Slide a cat charm on the ribbon and tie a bow to secure it.

2. Fab Cat Decor and Party Supplies

  • Think "cat cocktail party" and style the shower with a black color palette.

  • Purchase inexpensive black bath rugs and place them on the floor as resting spots for feline guests.

  • Set Cat Dancing Wands around the party for the cat lovers and kitties to interact and play.

3. Cat Treats and Party Favors

  • Consider a special gift for feline guests such as a "Create-A-Collar" with a rhinestone cat charm or a charm that says, "Born to Nap."

  • Send kitties home with a favor pack of catnip and a little ball or plush cat toy.

4. For the Peeps at a Cat Party

  • Bring out the feline-ality of the people at your party by passing out novelty cat sunglasses for guests to wear.

  • Add kitty bling to Martini or wine glasses by attaching a cat bell to the stems with ribbon.
