April Fool's Day is the perfect time to create lasting memories for your kids. If you come up with some really creative practical jokes, your kids will never forget them, and may even be inspired to come up with their own doozies to flummox you come next April 1!
Here are just a few ideas to get you started. Take these ideas and run with them. Personalize them to your family and your kids. Take a look at your daily routine and figure out how you can mix things up for maximum effect. For instance, if most of your family eats breakfast together, but then spend the rest of the day split up at work, school, and after-school activities, plan a few jokes for breakfast. Another good reason to start in the morning is because you are more likely to catch your kids off guard, and they will have some great stories to share at school. On the other hand, if your family starts the day on a staggered schedule but comes together at dinner time, get your ideas ready for dinner. A convincing dessert pizza? Make it fun!
And keep the fun going with the April Fools Treasure Hunt below. Making your kids think outside of the box is a great brain exercise...and coming up with the clues is good exercise for you!

You write the rules in this April Fool's Day Treasure Hunt. Have all of your kids work together to figure out the clues so that there's no competition among them, and create a group prize (like a cake or an identical small gift for each child) to give to them upon completion. Create clues that are clever enough to keep your oldest interested, but not too difficult to completely stump the youngest. Make sure that you direct your kids to different areas of the house and yard, making them zigzag around for optimum difficulty and fun. Read More
