Creating the Perfect Ambiance: Garden Party Baby Shower for a Girl

Gorgeous Garden

Since you're throwing the baby shower in a garden, the setting should be naturally beautiful with flowers and lush grass.

If you don’t have a green thumb, here are some quick tips to spruce up your garden:

  • Fill in brown spots with patches of sod

  • Bring in a few pots of brightly colored flowers that you can

place in strategic locations to brighten up the yard - e.g. next to

    doorways and food tables.

  • Take a clean, new brick, moisten it and use it to scrub old stained or mossy bricks to make them look like new.

  • Spread a layer of bark over any dirt soil spaces; it’s thrifty and aesthetically pleasing.
Party Perfect

Once your garden is as beautiful as you imagined, get it party-ready with the following:

  • Use tables constructed of old wooden planks or doors with

barrels underneath for support to create a rustic garden setting.

Rustic-looking picnic tables and benches will also do the trick.
  • Create plenty of casual seating for guests. Use park

benches mixed with dining chairs and indoor furniture brought outside

(such as comfy chairs and ottomans). These will make for a relaxed,

cozy setting. Toss a few of your inside pillows on the furniture for

    added comfort.
  • Take a trip to your local flea market and bring home

bargain chandeliers. Use rope to suspend them from trees around the

yard for an intimate party feel.
  • While at the flea market you can also grab two or three old candelabras. Set these in the middle of the tables for the shower.

  • Finally, use old silver or ceramic pitchers, vases and bowls to create floral centerpieces for the party.

Be sure to watch our video on creating floral centerpieces for more help on creating a beautiful atmosphere.
