Since you're throwing the baby shower in a garden, the setting should be naturally beautiful with flowers and lush grass. If you don’t have a green thumb, here are some quick tips to spruce up your garden:
- Fill in brown spots with patches of sod
- Bring in a few pots of brightly colored flowers that you canplace in strategic locations to brighten up the yard - e.g. next todoorways and food tables.
- Take a clean, new brick, moisten it and use it to scrub old stained or mossy bricks to make them look like new.
- Spread a layer of bark over any dirt soil spaces; it’s thrifty and aesthetically pleasing.
Once your garden is as beautiful as you imagined, get it party-ready with the following:
- Use tables constructed of old wooden planks or doors withbarrels underneath for support to create a rustic garden setting.Rustic-looking picnic tables and benches will also do the trick.
- Create plenty of casual seating for guests. Use parkbenches mixed with dining chairs and indoor furniture brought outside(such as comfy chairs and ottomans). These will make for a relaxed, cozy setting. Toss a few of your inside pillows on the furniture foradded comfort.
- Take a trip to your local flea market and bring homebargain chandeliers. Use rope to suspend them from trees around theyard for an intimate party feel.
- While at the flea market you can also grab two or three old candelabras. Set these in the middle of the tables for the shower.
- Finally, use old silver or ceramic pitchers, vases and bowls to create floral centerpieces for the party.
