A Well Planned Guest List
Crafting the perfect guest list is like creating the recipe for a great party. You have to know how much of each personality and group of friends to mix for the optimum result.

Guest Guidelines

  • Invite at least two groups of people who don't know each other, but would get along well.
  • Make sure each person attending will know at least one or two other people at the party.
  • Ask guests to bring significant others or friends so they will feel comfortable. It's easier to mingle when you already have a friend.
  • If someone doesn't know anyone else, catch them when they arrive and make them feel comfortable by introducing them to everyone and starting a group conversation.

Plenty of Alcohol
We are not suggesting people should be drunk at your fabulous fete; rather, every good party requires a good selection of alcohol.

Tips to Follow

  • Poll your guests beforehand to see what cocktails they enjoy.
  • Stock a wide variety of alcohol so everyone can have their favorite drink.
  • Pre-mix a few crowd favorites and keep in labeled pitchers on a table so guests can serve themselves.
  • When a guest arrives, greet them and get them their favorite drink. People will automatically feel at ease with a drink in hand, and the alcohol will help inevitably help them relax and mingle. It's a win-win!

Delicious Food
Great food is the cornerstone to a fabulous party. You don’t have to create a gourmet feast, you just have to know a few tricks:

Always make sure there is something for every guest

Have a veggie option available for people who might not want meat.

Use simple and quick yet delicious recipes

Pick recipes with very few steps and ingredients and prepare it with the freshest ingredients to let the quality of the meat and veggies shine.

If you can't cook well, order food in!

Pick a great restaurant with a variety of good food and order an assortment. Unless your party is formal, serve food buffet style to encourage mingling and set a casual atmosphere; putting people at ease.

Great Music
The best way to encourage chatting and cover up those (potentially) awkward silences is great music.

Create the Perfect Mix:
  • Craft a mix by changing up the style every few songs.
  • Start with a mood/lounge mix, go to popular music and rock, and end the night on a high note with energetic music people can dance to. It doesn't have to be a dance party - it's the energy of the music you're going for, not the intent to get guests shaking their hips!

Perfect Party Ambiance
There are a million ways to create ambiance, but here are a few of the easiest and most effective:

Relax and smile

If you seem nervous or are worrying things won't go well, your guests will pick up on it as soon as they walk in the door.

If you are laid back and have fun, everyone else will follow the host's lead.

Add candlelight

Everything and everyone looks better in a soft glow!

Fill vases with fresh flowers

Better yet, pick flowers that give off a lovely scent for double the impact.

If you follow all our handy advice, you'll be sure to stay cool as a cucumber and all your guests will be sure to remember the fabulous party you threw.
