Ingredients
- yellow or white cake mix
- frosting from a can
Steps
- Purchase small pails with shovels for each guest.
- Bake a yellow or white cake.
- Cut the cake into squares and fill the pails with two squares of cake.
- Cover the cake with white frosting and then cover frosting with crumbled graham crackers - you now have a pail of sand for dessert!
- For girls, you can add an artificial flower to the sand and add a bouncy ball for boys.
Let the little ones dress up as Bob the Builder or any other type of construction worker. Then set out plenty of disposable tablecloths or newspaper and let the building fun begin!

Steps
- Bake a sheet or two of brownies with your kids' help.
- Once the brownies have cooled, let kids use a plastic knife to cut them into small squares
- Next, have them load the brownies into the back of a large toy dump truck.
- Frost the brownies and then cover with crumbled Oreos cookies. Add gummy worms and they have the big haul of the day!
Because a sand pail cake is perfectly themed for any nautical, beach or summer party, we like to pair it with a "Birthday Summer Splash" party.
Have water guns and water balloons set up in the back yard on a hot day.
Split guests up into teams and let them soak and bomb each other until the water runs out.
