Until this recent Jell-O shooter trend started popping up in my Google Reader I hadn't made Jell-O shots since my early college years. The shots I made were simple - pack of Jell-O made the old fashioned way, but replaced the cold water with chilled vodka, then pour into those ketchup cups from McDonalds.
The Jell-O shots of today however, are much much more sophisticated. Get rid of those paper cups and pour a Jell-O cocktail in limes, cake pans or other molds instead. And rather than just going with the vodka, try using liquor like tequila or coconut rum!
Once you think about this concept and how clever bloggers have run with such recipes, the possibilities really are endless.
To get you started, we've got an easy video tutorial for a dressed up Jell-O shot. Then, our cocktail making contributor, Coryanne Ettiene whipped up a few more complex shot recipes that are all delicious and worth the prep!
Which will you try first???
