50's Birthday Party Food and Drink Ideas
A perfect retro diner menu is quick and easy.
  • Pick up some Hungry Man Meat Loaf mix and prepare as directed. Serve it up in an original Martini glass and start with some whipped potatoes as the first layer, followed by the meatloaf and topped off with some crispy fried onions.
  • Create a great display with a series of tasting plates lined with mini-cheeseburgers and mini-shakes.
  • Other entree ideas include the Brady Bunch's infamous Pork Chops & Applesauce as well as individual Turkey Pot Pies.
Expert Tip: Offer your guests egg creams in pilsner-style glasses alongside any of these memorable dishes.
  • Finish the meal with a choice of sundaes, apple pie à la mode, and serving trays filled with Krispy Kreme donuts and mini shots of iced or hot coffee. Titillate your party-goer's palates while you take them back in time!

Transform any party into the past with these 50s themed decor ideas.

  • Set-up a U-shaped table your very own "soda jerk" - a chef (or good friend) serving food and drinks. If you can, use a table that's above average in height to simulate the "counter effect."

  • Use retro soda glasses (remember those big straws?) and chrome/stainless steel utensils.
  • Organize a playlist from the thousands of great '50s & '60s records. Don't forget the "Happy Days" theme song!
