On March 6th Oreo turns 100 and we're celebrating with decadent dessert recipes inspired by the cookie itself!
You may think those commercials with two people twisting the cookie and splitting it between them is cheesy, but I don't. It's how I always ate Oreos with my sister -- well, the first one, at least. Then, a tall glass of milk alongside became to tempting to not dunk the whole cookie one after another, after another.
I had the perfect dunking technique, you know. So that the cookie never got too milk-soaked. Remember how, if you held the Oreo too long in the milk it would get soggy and crumble into the glass, which, wasn't bad, but it also wasn't the best way to enjoy one? I'd hold it just long enough for the cookie to have a slight crunch...
Anyway, I still enjoy the occasional Oreo milk dunk treat, but nowadays I like to think I've developed a more sophisticated way of enjoying these classic cookies.

And a very Happy 100th Birthday to Oreo -- you always made being a kid that much sweeter!
This Oreo dessert recipe has been circulating around the web for quite a while now, but if you've never tried it, I have to recommend it adamantly. Not only was it super simple to whip up, it's a no-bake, uber-decadent treat the kids can help make, which is always fun. Pop a couple of these Oreo truffles into your mouth and you've got a small bit of heaven to enjoy. Read More
I've made these cupcakes a couple of times, but this latest batch turned out best. I skipped the cookie base at the bottom and instead, crumbled bits of the Oreo into the batter as it baked. This took a good recipe and made it great -- packed with Oreo flavor, without the excess grease that cookie base sometimes created. Top with Oreo buttercream for the ultimate Oreo treat! Read More
Guys, I love ice cream ALMOST as much as I love Oreos. This past Christmas I was gifted with an ice cream maker and I just knew the first recipe to come out of that bad boy was going to be a cookies and cream featuring, you guessed it, Oreo! TRY THIS RECIPE. No words can describe how delicious it is! Read More
Our contributor Patti Allan whipped these Oreo cookie pops up for a graduation party. Though I doubted an Oreo could taste any better than it already did, I found out I was wrong. Coat them in some chocolate and sprinkle with a few toffee chips (or peppermint bits like I did) and they're even better. You just can't eat as many! Read More
