Inspired by Snoop Dogg's record release party, you can throw your kids the same high-rolling VIP party!

Ever since he started his reality TV show on E!, we all know that Snoop Dogg is all about “Fatherhood.” So, why not throw a VIP Party for your kids using some of the same fun ideas we used when we handled Snoop Dogg's record release party in NYC?

Kids love celebrtiies and you can take some ques from this grown-up group of Hip Hop Royalty and their party saavy. Make your kids feel like real VIP’s !

My team and I handled Snoop’s record release party in New York City for his latest album, “Ego Trippin." Learn how to create your own VIP Kid's Party here.

Snoop’s celebrity-filled party was thrown at one of NYC’s hottest venues called Touch in the heart of the Time Square area. The walls were up-lit with bright blue lights and dark shadows of trees glowed against the blue walls.

Though you may not be able to recreate this “club” look at home, you can create the same ambiance in the room by turning down all the main lights and using blue light bulbs in your lamps and other lighting fixtures.

Create a special VIP area by draping your plants (Ficus trees are perfect) with white Christmas lights and placing them in a nook or corner. Then, take a few outdoor floodlights with blue light bulbs in them and shine them upward against the wall around the plants. Place a few comfy chairs or a small sofa in this corner of the room and call it the VIP area!

Because this was Snoop’s record release party, there were tons of banners hanging from the walls with pictures of the new album cover on them.

You could take a great photo of your child and have it blown up at the local print center to create the same effect. Have guests use the banners as a back drop as you take keepsake photos of them - just like the celebs do. This will really make your birthday boy or girl feel like a celeb.

This A-list party included several ice sculptures as well, all featuring Snoop’s name and logo, but you can create same effect with a special birthday cake with your child’s name iced in crazy graffiti-inspired lettering!

MENU:

Although the menu for this exclusive VIP room included some more ‘adult’ items, like tuna tartare, grilled shrimp with mango salsa and sushi rolls, many of the items chosen by Snoop and his people are totally kid friendly.

We dressed up a few items like for the A-listers creating Kobe Franks in Cheddar Buns, Mini BLT Cups and Mini Cheeseburgers for Snoop, but you could just as easily serve chili-cheese dogs, BLT sandwiches, and cheese burgers for your kids and their friends.

In fact, a special add-on to the menu was made by Snoop himself. He wanted fried chicken wings. These are loved by kids of all ages. Make your VIP guests feel special by serving the food on hammered silver trays; mirrored plates and black lacquer serving pieces – just like we did for Snoop and his entourage.

And, you can always dress up a cookie plate by baking a stick into each cookie, then lining a modern tin box with wheat grass and lining up the cookies-on-stick into the grass! This is a fun way to treat your pint-sized VIP’s.

MUSIC:

The atmosphere at the “Ego Trippin” release party was full of bass-thumping hip hop music. The air was thick with the sound of fans and famous friends dancing and celebrating Snoop Dogg’s fete; the release of his ninth album!

Just make sure your hip hop tunes are approved by the parents you know. Then, let the kids play DJ and don’t be afraid to crank up the tunes. Kids love loud music and you can give in, just this once!
