Kid's Princess Birthday Party - Activities, Food and Favors
Play Dress Up
Read Kid's Princess Birthday Party - Decor for royal party decorations.
Activities
The most important (and fun) part about being a princess is dressing like one. Start the party off with a bang by creating a dream dressing room. Hang pink or purple sheets or against the walls and display princess dresses, tiaras and royal accessories around the room.
Each princess will get the royal treatment when she arrives at the party by going into the room and choosing her gown, tiara and accessories for the day.
If you're comfortable allowing the girls to wear lipstick, consider setting up a vanity table with different lipsticks she can choose from. When she's ready, set up a big reveal where she can show off her new look to the oohs and aahs of the other princesses.
Tiara decorating is another great princess activity girls will enjoy. Either purchase plain silver plastic or silver paper tiaras, then let the little ones get creative with rhinestones, glitter and glue. Just make sure to lay down a disposable surface before the glittering begins!
Entertain the royalty with princess-themed board games like Pretty Pretty Princess and the Princess And The Pea Game
. You can even go all-out with a castle shaped AstroJump in the backyard to
burn off some energy.
They'll be riveted with a hit movie
Princess Party Movies:
- Princess Diaries
- Ella Enchanted
- The Little Princess
- My Little Pony: The Princess Promenade
- Shrek
- The Swan Princess
- My Fair Lady
If your princess party is going to be a sleepover, a movie is a great way to wind things down at the end of the night. If you added twinkle lights outside (see Kid's Princess Birthday Party- Décor) bring the twinkle lights in from outside and lay them over furniture in the TV room, and have each girl bring her throne (or just the throne pillow) in to sit on (also from Kid's Princess Birthday Party- Décor).
Check out our list of recommended princess party movies on the right.
Food
Serve whatever food you think the princesses will enjoy best, but serve it up in royal style. Use silver serving trays, fancy looking napkins and pretty plastic plates and silverware. Use an elegant silver serving tool to transfer pizza from a cakestand to the plate. Decorate the table with pink roses and baby's breath from your local florist or 1-800-Flowers.
For the grand finale, you have several dessert options. Birthday
Cakes can be baked in whimsical shapes like crowns or castles, then decorated with
frosting to look just like the real thing.
Pretty cupcakes
Cupcakes are a less-fussy option that are even easier to decorate - simply adorn each cupcake with a toy ring or Ring Pop for the girl to keep as a favor, and place them all on a cute cupcake tree. The cupcake tree can do double duty as a centerpiece for the feasting table.
Favors
Send each princess home with a favor to remember the good time she had. You can buy pretty feather pens an affix scattered crystals to make them sparkle. Add in a Ring Pop, white gloves and a princess wand or magic mirror. Rest assured your princess party will be the talk of the school on Monday!
