Sex and the City Cocktails

Carrie is all heart; her passion for shoes, Mr. Big, and New York City is one of her most endearing character traits.

The Sex and the City movie plot has been a well-kept secret, however, they have made it known that Carrie and Big are getting married. Who knows if they'll actually go through with it, but love is in the air!

We couldn't completely abandon the traditional Cosmo, but this time around, we wanted to give it a little more heart with a couple of drops of passion fruit liqueur as you'll find in our recipe below for Carrie's "I Love NY" Cocktail.

Ingredients

• 1/3 Cup olive oil
• 1 oz. vodka
• 2(8- oz. ) cans button mushrooms
• 1/2 oz. triple sec
• 1 Teaspoon dry mustard
• 1/2 oz. Alize' Gold Passion Fruit liqueur
• 1 Tablespoon mustard seed
• 1 oz. red cranberry juice
• 1/2 Teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
• splash of fresh lime juice
• 1 (6-oz.) can large black olives, pitted
• lime twist for garnish
• 1 Cup green olives stuffed with pimentos
• 1/2 Teaspoon salt
• 1/2 Teaspoon pepper
• 3 orange bell peppers

Directions

• Cook oil, mushrooms, dry mustard, mustard seed and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over medium heat for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
• Add ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a Martini glass. Garnish with a lime twist.
• Place mushroom mixture and olives in a food processor and until olives are finely minced.
• Cut tops of orange peppers and use a spoon to scrape out seed and inner membrane. Use a sharp knife to cut out Jack-O-Latern facial features in the side of the pepper.
• Spoon tapenade into Jack-O-Lantern peppers and serve with thin baguette slices or crackers in a basket.
• Makes 2 1/2 cups

Perhaps the fairest character of all is sweet Charlotte.

Always the optimist, Charlotte knew that Carrie would end up with Mr. Big.

By the end of the TV series, Charlotte's life had all but a cherry on top with a devoted hubby and the baby of her dreams.

What could be more perfect for her than the chocolate-laced cocktail Charlotte's Chocolatini?

Enjoy the recipe below served up in a chocolate-rimmed Martini glass.

Ingredients

• 1 oz. vodka
• 1 oz. Bailey's Irish cream
• 1 oz. creme de cacao
• 1 Teaspoon chocolate syrup
• melted chocolate chips for glass rim

Directions

• Melt chocolate chips in the microwave.
• Dip the rim of a Martini glass in the melted chocolate.
• Add ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into the chocolate-rimmed Martini glass.

Oh, how we love Samantha and her libidinous ways.

What we adore most about this vixen is that no matter many men come and go in her life (or in a week), she always has time for her girlfriends.

Though Samantha has settled down with a boyfriend half her age, she is still as hot as ever and deserves a zinger of a cocktail!

To keep her breath kissing sweet, we've revamped the classic creme de menthe stinger into a peach schnapps blend.

Ingredients

• 1/2 oz. peach schnapps
• 1 1/2 oz. Brandy
• peach slice for garnish

Directions

• Add ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a Martini glass. Garnish with a peach slice.

For John James Preston, soon-to-be Mr. Carrie Bradshaw, and forever known as Mr. Big, we had to go with a simple single malt scotch on the rocks!

Let's hope that the "rock" he places on Carrie's finger shines as brightly as she does!

Spicy and savvy, Miranda is a woman who tells it like it is.

Even though her decision in the TV series to move from Manhattan to Brooklyn was for the sake of her family, it showed a more creative side to the practical character that we all count on.

Inspired by her spirit and the fiery nature characteristic of many redheads, we've put a Sex and the City spin on the Bloody Mary cocktail.

Our recipe for the Bloody Miranda below, includes traditional ingredients such as tomato juice and vodka, but we've pepped it up a bit with a pepperoncini garnish and a splash of its juice.

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 oz. vodka
• 4 oz. tomato juice
• 1 Teaspoon fresh lemon juice
• 1/2 Tsp Worcestershire
• splash pepperoncini juice from the jar
• celery salt for glass rim
• pepperoncini for garnish

Directions

• Run a lemon wedge around the rim of a highball glass and dip rim in celery salt.
• Fill glass halfway with ice. Add ingredients into the glass and stir.
• Garnish with a pepperoncini.
