An invitation is not really necessary for this type of event, but here are some fun ideas if you would like to send one out anyway!

- Find a box set of green cards and write out the copy with a white pen. Or you can type out the copy on your computer and print it directly on the cards.
- Find some shamrock stickers from somewhere like Mrs. Grossman's or Sandy Lion to seal the envelope. If green cards are difficult to find you can always use white ones and print in green ink!

Get a few subway style sandwiches and cut them up into mini sandwiches. Wrap them in small squares of green paper and enclose with a shamrock sticker.

- To set the mood change out some of your regular light bulbs with green ones
- Carry the green theme throughout your party with a green table cloth, plates, and napkins
- Find chocolate covered coins at your local candy store or party supply store and spread them out on the table as a centerpiece.
- Serve your beverages in a green beer mug or green plastic cup. Windy City Novelties has some great St. Patricks Day themed drinkware and serveware.
- Have some green party beads and leprechaun hats on hand for guests who forgot to wear green. This can also serve as table decor. Your local party store or online outlet like Windy City Novelties will definitely have these!

Make a mix CD with Irish folk music, or some well-know Irish groups like U2, The Corrs, Van Morrison and the Cranberries.

To really get into the Irish spirit, have a limerick writing contest. Give your guests a few minutes to write a clever limerick then have them read it aloud in their best Irish accent.

I took your advice and added green food dye to a pitcher of beer, as well as a pitcher of Sprite. This was a fun way for all of my guests to enjoy the festivities of St.Partick's Day, regardless if they were drinking or not!

I also love the idea of adding food dye to beer. It's such a unique and festive way to spice up a drink! I know that all of my friends will love this.
