Drink to the Commentator
Toast the sportscaster with this Super Bowl party game where players take sips of beer when the commentator says a certain football phrase.
Supplies
Pre-cut slips of paper
Beer (or drink of your choice)
Set Up
Write down a bunch of football terms on slips of paper that the commentator might say throughout the game such as "First Down," "Touchdown," "Coach," "Fumble," etc...
Fold up the slips of paper and put them in a bowl for guests to randomly pick when they arrive at the party.
How to Play:
Each guests must draw one of the "Football Phrases" on the cut up papers upon entering the party.
Each time the commentator says a phrase on the guest's paper, that guest takes a sip from his or her beverage.
Alternative Play
Instead of a person having one word to drink to, you can make this a group chug by limiting the words to a select few. All your guests have to drink when the phrases are mentioned - if a guest misses they have to finish their beer!
Rate the Commercials
The commercials shown during the Super Bowl are often as exciting as the game itself. Make a game out of it by ranking the commercials from greatest to lamest. Even guests who aren't football fans will have fun!
Supplies
Pens
As many pieces of paper as you have people
Optional: White board to keep track of votes
How to Play:
Give everyone a sheet of paper and a pen.
As commercials come on, make a note of the ones that stand out, whether they're good or bad.
After the game, add up which commercials got the best and worst votes. Everyone has to tell why they gave a thumbs up or thumbs down. You may be surprised at how funny and loud the debate will get!
