The clear, bright, lemony design of Pear Tree Greetings' Sweet Slices invitations gave us inspiration galore for decorating and creating a menu for our recent afternoon wedding shower.
During the late spring and summer months citrus flavors and yellow hues are found in abundance. Take advantage of the versatile ingredient and feminine shades to decorate your own summer bridal shower.
The invitation for your shower is important as it's essential to set the tone and expectations of your shower guests. Once we sent out our Sweet Slices bridal shower invitations, we used the invite as inspiration to guide the recipes, decor and other party ideas for our celebration.

A wire basket full of beautiful yellow lemons was placed on the entry table to give our guests just a little idea of what was ahead. We tied a yellow tulle ribbon to the handle, and then propped the invitation against the basket. Lots of lemon loveliness ahead!

Tables echoed our invitation's vintage, elegant and summer design. DIY centerpieces were crafted from inexpensive topiaries and accented with yellow tule. To embelish a bit more, we also placed ivy votives on the table.

Since this was a mid-afternoon shower, we decided on a sweeter menu. Guests enjoyed plates full of lemon-infused desserts like lemon sorbet, petit fours, trifle and cookies.

And it wasn't only our bride taking home sweet gifts - all our shower guests left with a homemade lemon loaf and a favor box, inspired by our invitation, filled with lemon drop candies.
