Pear Tree Greeting's Elegant Gratitude invitation provided the perfect inspiration for a traditional Thanksgiving Feast with a modern twist. The simplicity and clean lines of the graphics set us in motion to create a Thanksgiving table that would echo that simplicity, yet remain elegant. We borrowed the invitation's color scheme for our tablescape and incorporated beautiful elements that we associate with Fall: colorful leaves, nuts, pumpkins, artichokes, and acorns.
Our greeting began at the front door with some potted mums surrounded by miniature pumpkins.
Then, as guests piled in, our Thanksgiving table took center stage. A DIY arrangement with a bundle of wheat created the perfect centerpiece for our table. It was simple, but took on an elegant look when tied with brown organza ribbon and embellished with natural elements like metallic leaves.
We recreated the look of the leaves from Pear Tree's invitation by placing branches and sprigs of Fall leaves in the center of the table to anchor our wheat bundle centerpiece. To add some elegance, we chose glittered and sparkly leaves and then placed small votive candles amongst them.
Stacked yellow and orange plates with amber colored goblets brought all of Fall's colors to the table. Small pumpkins created a bright focal point for the table and served as place cards as well.
We even dressed the chairs for the holidays by tying beautiful fall tea towels to the backs. A sparkly leaf to incorporate our invitation's theme also added a little glamour.
Our Thanksgiving menu was traditional because we look forward to the yumminess of the traditional Thanksgiving Feast and our family's favorite dishes.
It's hard to beat roast turkey, gravy, dressing, Mom's fruit salad, and sweet potatoes. But, just for fun, we changed up the pumpkin pie dessert.
Pumpkin parfaits served in mini-parfait glasses and topped with crushed chocolate toffee candy bits proved to be a delightful surprise for our guests.
Our green salad was topped with dried cranberries, bleu cheese and spiced nuts. We made extra spiced nuts to send home with our guests in decorative glass jars.
Finally, a basket of conversations starters sat nearby the table. These pre-written topics are a great way to get everyone to participate in the table talk. So, if you could invite anyone to your fabulous Thanksgiving table, who would it be?
