For those with tailgating in their hearts, we know you want to make the best of your manly adventure to the football stadium.
In Part I of this article we discussed organizing your traveling tailgate group. Now, in Part II, we have the details on great food for the big tailgating day, the right attire, and the preparation how-to to ensure a perfect outing on game day!

Create Game Day Gear
With Walker's group, the preferred game day gear is their Jets jerseys.
However, he mentioned that his group has met other traveling tailgate groups who have created annual shirts to wear to the game.
The beauty of making your own shirts is that the design can honor both your home team as well as your yearly tradition.
If you decide to make your own shirts, feature:
- The name of your tailgate group
- What year you are in (I.e. “Third Annual Tailgate Trip”)
- A schedule of the games you’ll attend
- Personalize the shirts by putting each guy’s nickname on the back
- Don't forget to create the shirts in your home team’s colors so you can show your spirit at the same time
Make Friends with the Locals
Instead of researching restaurants and bars online, make friends with the locals for great recommendations. Ask them about good places to go before and after the game, where to get food and drinks, etc. You can end up at a really great hole in the wall you'd never have found! Plus, half the fun of traveling is experiencing the local flavor.
Don't Forget Your Camera
After all your hard work organizing, planning and tailgating, document your achievement.
Make sure to get one really great group shot that includes everyone in the tailgate with the stadium in the background.
When you get home, blow up the best shot of the crew and get one framed for each guy. This makes a great keepsake and will remind you of all the fun times you’ve had together. Hopefully one day you will have 32 of them hanging on the wall!
1. Check the Weather
If you’re in a new town, you likely aren’t familiar with their weather - check the forecast the morning of the game and dress accordingly.
Otherwise, you risk being miserable instead of having fun.
2. Remember the Tickets
This sounds obvious, but it’s easy to forget to bring something that you ordered six months ago that has been sitting in an envelope under a stack of junk mail.
3. Bring Games
Since you’ll be tailgating for a few hours, it’s fun to have some games to play. Throw in a football to toss around as well as items for traditional tailgating games like beer pong and flip cup.
Game Day Food
Pack a cooler and get all your food and drinks ready the night before.
If the game has a noon or earlier start time, bring food to make a delicious steak & egg breakfast.
If kickoff isn’t until the late afternoon or evening, pack an impressive lunch spread. Big, juicy burgers and colossal sausage dogs always taste better just before a big game.
Drinks
For drinks, make sure you pick up enough beer, water and soda to satisfy everyone in the group.
