Spring Party Ideas:

The quintessential start to spring imbibing is a margarita, but follow our recipe to heat things up that much more quickly:

Ingredients

  • 2 Oz (high-end) silver tequila
  • 1 Oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 Oz pineapple juice
  • Small piece of fresh jalapeno pepper
  • Two small pieces fresh red pepper
  • A lime wedge

Directions

  • Muddle the jalapeno and red pepper in the bottom of a pint glass or shaker, and then add ice, tequila, lime, and pineapple juices. Shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled martini or cocktail glass. Garnish with lime wedge.

People also associate springtime with a fruity drink in a martini glass (think Appletini), but we're going to suggest something a little more sophisticated...and a lot more delicious!

Ingredients

  • 2 Oz (high end) gin
  • 3/4 Oz St. Germain elderflower liqueur
  • 3/4 Oz (high end) Blanc vermouth, such as Dolin
  • Orange (or any flavor you desire, like strawberry, grapefruit, peach, etc) bitters
  • A lemon wedge

Directions

  • Combine all the liqueurs and bitter with ice in a shaker and shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with the lemon.

Finally, there's no need to settle for a boring old bottled light beer. Instead, follow the English/Irish tradition and pour yourself (and your friends) a Shandy.

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 Oz cold lemon soda (or lemon-lime if you prefer)
  • 3 to 4 Oz cold light Lager or Pilsner beer
  • A lemon wedge

Directions

  • Combine the beer and soda in a Collins or highball glass and garnish with the lemon.
