Pretty in Pink Party

We have a fab guest post from Mindy Lockard. Check out her supercute pink mini-party she threw with her favorite two-year-old.

Little Kate is one of my most favorite two year olds. Kate often comes over while her mom, my best friend, meets with her personal trainer. Having two older brothers, Kate loves coming over to the land of Elle and Maggie where girly toys are around every corner, literally. On past visits, Kate and I have had picnics on the floor & tea parties with china. Lately, Kate has been especially fond of the color pink. So it was only natural that on her most recent visit we would have "pink party!" Let's face it, when you teach etiquette, some people fear coming over to visit. I always try to put my guests at ease (no matter their age) and this pink party did just the trick.

The party started when Kate and I put on our Hip Hostess aprons, pink of course, and whipped up some strawberry flavored cupcakes. After we baked the cupcakes and allowed them to cool, we frosted them with vanilla frosting colored with pink sprinkles... just for an extra girly touch. The table was set with pink and white dishes, paper party napkins and pink juice boxes. Kate asked that we have a candle and sing "Happy Birthday" to her, and we did. . . after all, what's a party without "Happy Birthday?" A sweet moment with a sweet girl, who after she licked off the frosting from her cupcake, was tickled pink!
