Spending the time with my Husband and two boys, we just love to sit back and watch the fireworks, then make sure that the boys don't catch themselves or anything else for that matter on fire with the sparklers, lol... that's just a precautionary... our favorite tradition is to break out the water guns, slipnslide and have some watery fun prior to the firework show!
Our family and neighbors have an early campfire breakfast every 4th of July. It's a great way to get together and start celebrating early!
I love outdoor picnics at our family lakehouse. Now that im in the military i am far from home and miss out on these traditions, but that is my favorite thing to do on the fourth!
We have gathered at my aunt and uncles farm out in the country since the 80's for 4th. Swimming, volley ball, cookout and homemade icecream!
I love watching fireworks from the boat! It's even more fun now that I have kids to enjoy them with! Thanks for the chance to win.
My family has enjoyed going to my husband's hometown for a small town traditional 4th of July parade and barbeque. We always had a great time with the family.
We love to go sit out at the Air Force Academy field, with our picnic basket (that got stolen a few years ago at the city park...so now we just have a picnic "bag"), have our picnic dinner, let the kids play until dark, then watch the fireworks!! I would absolutely LOOOVE to win this picnic basket! We really NEED a new one, and I LOOOOVE Glue Dots!! I use them on almost every card I make!!

Every year we meet up with about 35 other people at "OUR" spot on the golf course. We share our food drinks and bug spray. Play frisbee, take turns watching the little ones so that they dont fall in the pond
. It's great fun in the sun. Lots of memories to use the Glue Dots and adhesive in the scrapbook of life!
Our favorite Fourth of July tradition is watching fireworks together. The whole family piles into the largest vehicle and goes to a field beside one of the elementary schools where we will have a great view of the fireworks.
Cooling off in the lake during the day and floating around watching the fireworks from it at night. It is beautiful around the lake at night on the 4th of July. The whole sky lights up with fireworks.
My favorite tradition on the 4th of July is watching the fireworks with my family. I look forward to it every year.
My favorite thing to do is gather with family and friends. Simple, yet the very best part!
Making homemade ice cream is my fave tradition!!
July 4th is a special day for me, because it's my birthday. Every year I go up North with my family and good friends. We have a cook out and have a great time together. Then we all pile into the car and go into town and watch the fire works!
My husband gets up at 6 am, fills ballons with water, then I get up and make a pitcher of sun tea and lemon aide. The kids get up around 9am, then I precook the meats the kids seasoned the night before. At 12 pm will have a water ballon fight( I hate ballons, but for that day I play along for my 11, 13 and 14 year old). Then we cook out around 2pm, then we have another water ballon fight. We do a few fire works later on that night. We all say what we are thinkful for and that is our yearly thing.
I attend a good old-fashioned, Americana-Style beach party every year with about 20 friends and kids. There is the day spent with coolers of goodies & games on the beach & in the surf. Then, back to our friend's beach house for a gourmet style BBQ (where everyone helps chip in with the cooking, setting up, and bringing side dishes etc.). Then, we all gather for our annual 4th photo on the house steps. After that, it's back to the beach for fireworks. The kids are always decked out in glow-bracelets & waving American flags. It's the "event of the year" for our group! I can't wait!
We enjoy having friends and family over for the day, enjoying a time of fun and fellowship. We usually swim, play volleyball and hillbilly golf, followed up with an amazing pot-luck B-B-Q. By evening everyone is ready to head out and watch the fireworks!
I like to head to Downtown Houston and watch the big boys make the fireworks happen. Big lights and big excitement.
Our family tradition is bar-b-cuing, everybody eating and playing games out side then we all load up in two or three cars and go and watch the fire works. then when we come we do our own fire works. What a bang!
Every year, for about 15 years, we would have a pig roast - up before daylight - spit the pig on a large BBQ - and around 75 friends would come and bring their "potluck" items of appetizers, salads, breads, etc. Great memories!!

Greetings from Bowmansville, NY. We Love the 4th of July. My family of 4 has a tradition of standing by as firefighters for our towns annual fireworks show. We also participate in the Parade. My husband builds the float for the kids, and I'm in the Drum Corp. Happy 4th Everyone!!!

My parents always had a huge BBQ picnic thing in the afternoon. The parade was in the evening followed by fireworks.
My husband's family camps every 4th weekend. We're lucky enough to get to go this year. It's a reunion for all the descendants of his great-grandparents, so there's 100's of people there. And, most are from the same area in Wyoming, so they know each other. Super excited to go, since last time I wasn't able to enjoy it as much, being morning sick with #3. Hoping for no snow
Our tradition is to have all of the family and kids over for a HUGE BBQ with games and prizes!!

I'm going to take my baby girl and we are going to watch the fireworks downtown and have a really great time. Hopefully the city does not stop the fireworks because of the ban due to the extreme heat.

Starts with a pancake breakfast, raising of the flag, and a fun day poolside. Top it off with fireworks of course!

For the past 8 years we've gone to the local campus of the University that sits on a lake and watch the firework festivities with my daughter and sil and grandchildren and hubby. Sometimes my son and friends join us. We bring lawn chair and blankets and bags of bulk candy and glow in the dark jewelry. It's a great time and we usually have front row seats if we arrive early enough.Prior to that we picnic at my daughter's house with grilled foods, clams and shrimp and a whole array of things to eat. This year we will be joined by my youngest daughter and her family as they are staying with us for a few weeks. It will be lots of fun! We all try to wear red, white, and blue or something 4th of July festive.

my favorite thing about July 4th was playing around with fireworks. I'd find out about a trick and just have to try it. My favorites was taking the base off the whistler and letting it fly and dropping a lit ground bloom flower into a buck of water and watching what happened.
I love kickin back with a great bbq, hanging out with friends and family, and ending it all with some beautiful fireworks.
I was born on the 4th of July and spent my Summers at our family owned campground. every year my Dad would do the fireworks show for all the guests but my Mom would tell me that Daddy was doing it just for me. So every year I must see fireworks cause I know they are just for ME...LOL

This sounds terrible, as the mom and only girl in an all-boy household the kids hold me up to a feminine standard. So I really love showing them how far I can spit watermelon seeds on Fourth of July. It's not *that* gross but they find it appropriately scandalous. LOL.
Our 4th of July tradition is to go to see the city's fireworks display we stop at the same place every year and we stay for hours with friends and the kids.
For years we traveled to St Louis to visit friends but this year we are going to have to start a new tradition. Probably cooking out and some homemade popsicles and gotta find some fireworks!
