Here we are in the thick of summer. If there's one thing I can't get enough of this summer, it's ice cream. Really, I think I could have it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner...and dessert for each of those meals too! Instead of heading to the ice cream store to satisfy each of these cravings, I thought I'd take a look at some homemade ice cream treats and try my hand at making some myself. I thought I'd share my tasty findings with you this week. Which of these should I make over the weekend?
Fried ice cream has always been a restaurant treat for me. But, it looks like BellyFeathersParty has an simple at home version. If I make this, I might mix it up a bit and use chocolate ice cream. I love chocolate and cinnamon together! And that's totally the point of doing stuff at home...making it your way!
Next up is a yummy looking caramel ice cream recipe from JoyofDesserts. Not only does she offer this fab recipe, she's collecting other people's vintage ice cream recipes! Go ahead and share if you have one (it has to be ten years or older) and definitely check back. I'm sure there are going to be lots of amazing recipes there in a few days.
As a chocolate gal, strawberry ice cream isn't typically my go to, but this sour cream version on TheNoviceChef looks good enough to make a strawberry lover out of me. It's a guest post from Tina of MyLifeAsAMrs. Thank both of you bloggers for sharing this.
And these aren't technically ice cream, but they look so real and are so dang cute, I had to include them. They're LivingLocurto's Ice Cream Cupcakes. She's suggesting them as a teacher gift and while they'd be perfect for that, they would also jazz up just about any celebration. I really love these!
What do you think? Which of these should I make over the weekend? Which will you?
