Bananas and chocolate are hands down my two favorite things, not foods, things. Putting the two together weakens my knees (and will-power) just thinking of this heavenly pairing and Lyraina's Banana Chocolate Cupcakes seems like a delicious answer to my culinary prayers. While the cake itself isn't chocolate, I still think this mega morsel makes the cut with its rich chocolate glaze tempting all senses.
Here's a blast from the past, well, sort of. Best Friends for Frosting delivers the goods in this recipe for Samoas Cupcakes inspired by the Girl Scout favorite. caramel, toasted coconut, and of course, chocolate earn this cupcake a merit badge for decadence.
As skeptical as I am about this next recipe, I can't say for sure that I would turn it away if someone waved it under my nose, but I thought I'd include it just out of pure curiosity. I've heard of of zucchini cupcakes and even those made with avocado, but in all of my explorations I have never encountered a recipe quite like this one for Chocolate Sauerkraut Cupcakes. I think I ran a little wild for a minute and forgot what this day is all about...chocolate. This next and last recipe brings us back down to earth where chocolate reigns supreme over nuts, fruits and fermented cabbage. Mrs. Ergul's Chocolate Torte Cupcakes are peerless in their results and don't sacrifice taste or good looks, so that their creators truly can have their cake and eat it too.
