When you're planning a party, don't feel like you have to go buy a new set of plates just so they all match.  These plates were picked up at thrift stores over various visits, for various projects.  Just make sure your mixing and matching looks intentional.  Don't try to add in just 1 plate that is different than all the others.  That will draw your eyes right to it.  Thrift stores are an amazing resource for planning parties.  The prices can be incredibly inexpensive and because of this, you won't feel bad modifying something or using it for a small piece of your party puzzle.

Always try to remember that unless you have been bragging to your guests for weeks about how you are going to dazzle them, know one but you knows what you had planned.  If some of it doesn't get done, only you know.  Any DIY's that you are creating for your party should be completed, if at all possible, the day before.  It is inevitable that setting up will take longer than you expect and instead of greeting your guests with finished glittered pine cones, greet them refreshed and ready to enjoy their company.  What good is a party if you can't enjoy it! Relax and have fun!

Hopefully these tips will help you put together your next get together and help you save some money at the same time. Thank you to Celebrations.com for letting me share this inspiration shoot and tips with you!
