Summer Crafts for Kids Week: Christy of Sweet Tidings

Today's featured craft blogger is Christy, editor of Sweet Tidings, your daily dose of homemade. Christy's blog is chock full of gorgeous photos and fabulous craft projects from around the web. Be sure to check out Mosaic Monday, a weekly mood board of crafty inspiration.

In addition to Sweet Tidings, Christy also runs a daily photoblog, Basho's Pond, where visitors are treated to new images daily. Crafters can also visit Christy at her online craft shop, Happy Handmades, featuring both finished crafts and craft supplies.

Christy shared 2 craft projects and a cupcake recipe with Celebrations, each with a summer theme.

Crafting a Handmade Journal is a great way for kids and adults to commemorate summer fun. This craft also makes a great gift for a crafty friend celebrating a summertime birthday.

Beach glass, a popular medium in summer crafts, makes for a sophisticated touch on either handmade or store-bought soap. Imagine surprising summer house guests (or a hostess) with a Beach Glass Adorned Handmade Soap. Kids can get in on the fun too, by helping collect polished beach glass or making handmade soap.

No summer party is complete without a sweet treat. These Summer Blossom Cupcakes are little works of art and easy enough to make when using purchase sugar flowers. Enjoy them with a cup of afternoon tea or surpise a summer birthday girl.

Check back tomorrow for more great craft ideas from our favorite craft bloggers.
