Entertainment Tonight Post Emmy Party!

This past Sunday night, “Entertainment Tonight” hosted a post Emmy Awards bash. The celebrity filled event was held at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, California.
GUEST LIST
The guest list included Paula Abdul, Billy Idol, Will Arnett, Amy Poehler, Tori Spelling, Brooke Shields, Neil Patrick Harris, Nicollette Sheridan, Stacey Keibler, Ed McMahon, Jamie Kennedy, Jeff Probst, Kristin Chenoweth, Rick Schroder and Rex Lee.

THE SCENE
The party was held at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. The event space was decked out with a Crumbs bakery dessert bar accompanying a buffet featuring Spanish cuisine. Each celeb left with a huge gift bag – that was more of a suitcase. All of the celebrities were treated to a performance by Billy Idol. All the winners were able to mingle and share stories into the wee hours of the night.
THE DRESS
All of the guests were dressed to impress for this post awards show bash. Brooke Shields wore a lovely low cut pink Badgley Mischka dress. Kristin Chenoweth wore a black Armani strapless sheath with white gold and diamond earrings, which nearly stole the show. Paula Abdul wore a glowing sleeveless dark blue gown with her hair up in a bun.
THE AWARDS
The Emmy Awards were this past Sunday night in Los Angeles, California. “Mad Men” on AMC won for best television drama. “30 Rock” won for best television comedy. Other winners included Tina Fey, Jeremy Piven, Jeff Probst, Laura Linney, Paul Giamatti, Alec Baldwin and Don Rickles.

Jeremy Piven – The actor picked up his third straight Emmy award Sunday night for his supporting role on HBO’s Entourage. Piven who plays super agent Ari Gold, added yet another gold statue to his collection. Piven also appears to be in line to get future nominations and awards as HBO announced this week that they have renewed Entourage for a sixth season. Piven can hug it out with all his Emmys now…
Yankee Stadium – Sunday night was the last baseball game at the famous ballpark. The New York Yankees beat the Baltimore Orioles 7-2. Several Yankee legends were in attendance for the game and a special pre-game ceremony. The Yankees have won 26 World Series at the Stadium. The stadium opened in 1923. The Yankees new stadium is currently being built across the street.
The Muppets – In a New York Times article this Sunday, it was announced that the Muppets are a making a full comeback. Plans include a new movie in 2010 and tons of new items. They are also opening a make your own Muppet shop in FAO Schwartz in New York City and they will also be available online. It’s not easy being green…

New Yorkers for Children Fall Gala!

This past Tuesday night, the New Yorkers for Children Fall Gala featured a star studded crowd. The event was held at Cipriani in New York City.

THE SCENE
The party was held at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. The elegant restaurant served as a wonderful venue for the affair. The black tie party began with a lively cocktail hour allowing all the guests to mingle. Once dinner began, all the guests were seated and treated to performances by Lupe Fiasco, Patti LaBelle and Jimmy Fallon. And before the night was over, the guests got to hit the dance floor!
THE DRESS
All of the guests were completely decked out for this black tie affair. Blake Lively wore a very elegant purple dress with black stockings and matching scarf. Kim Raver looked stunning in a one shoulder black dress with matching heels and purse. Mariska Hargitay donned a long black skirt and lovely white dress shirt top to match the black tie theme.
THE CHARITY
New Yorkers for Children helps assist New York City children in foster care. The charity was started in 1996. Since its inceptions the charity has developed programs, which include college scholarships, tutoring programs, mentoring and networking opportunities. The charity continues to grow and raise money through various events and initiatives.

Tom Hanks and TRL Go Platinum!

Tom Hanks – The actor is going to be honored by the Film Society of Lincoln Center at its 36th Gala Tribute. Previous honorees include Clint Eastwood, Martin Scorsese, Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon and Meryl Streep. Hanks has starred in such films as “Big,” “Apollo 13,” “Philadelphia,” “Sleepless in Seattle” and “Saving Private Ryan.” The tribute is set for April 27th at the recently renovated Alice Tully Hall in New York City.
TRL – MTV announced this week that its show “Total Requests Live” will end this November. The show had been on for 10 years. Over that period of time Carson Daly, Damien Fahey, Vanessa Minnillo, Quddus, La La Vasquez, Susie Castillo and Hilarie Burton. The show debuted numerous music videos and featured an endless number of celebrities. We guess MTV requested that TRL go off the air…
Coen Brothers – Joel and Ethan Coen’s new movie “Burn After Reading” made nearly 20 million dollars at the box office this past weekend. The film stars George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich and J.K. Simmons. The film is about two corrupt gym employees who find a disk containing the memoirs of a CIA agent. The Coen’s previous films include “No Country for Old Men,” The Big Lebowski,” “Fargo,” and “The Hudsucker Proxy.” The Coen’s are getting a lot of brotherly love…
Stephen Colbert – The comedian will host a Christmas special on Comedy Central entitled “A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!" The show will feature comedy and new and original music. Colbert has already gotten a bunch of A-list names to confirm, including Elvis Costello, Feist, Toby Keith, John Legend and Willie Nelson. The 1 hour special will air November 23rd. No Hanukah special?

THE SCENE
The party was held at High Line in New York City. The old elevated subway was decked out with glitz and glam and accompanied by a temporary three story structure. The celebrities and fashion gurus mingled all night to kick-off fashion week in NYC and toast Calvin Klein. The stars were all able to speak to the designers of the dresses they were wearing.
THE DRESS
All of the guests were exquisitely dressed knowing that designers and fashion experts would be all around. Halle Berry wore a lovely black sleeveless top with matching black capri pants and black heels. Claire Danes looked stunning in a silver one-shoulder dresss with peep-toe heels. The newly pregnant Naomi Watts came in a glamorous black one-shoulder maternity dress.
Fashion Week
New York has been abuzz all week with several fashion shows from various designers. Calvin Klein’s 40th anniversary was one of the many events held throughout the week. Other highlights included the Mercedes-Benz Shows and the Giorgio Armani runway presentation. At almost every runway show a slew of A-listers could be seen taking it all in. Perhaps, even we could have gained a fashion tip or two…

Britney Spears – The pop singer took home three awards at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night. Spears’ music video “Pieces of Me” won for best female video, best pop video and video of the year. Other winners included Chris Brown, Linkin Park and the Pussycat Dolls. Russell Brand, from “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” fame, hosted the awards, which is in its 25th year. The awards are so old that they actually remember when MTV played music videos…
Kenny Chesney – The Country Music star received 7 Country Music Association (CMA) Award nominations. Chesney already won last year’s entertainer of the year and was nominated again this year. He is up against Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, George Strait and Sugarland. Other artists receiving multiple nominations include Carrie Underwood and Alan Jackson. The CMA awards will air November, 12th on ABC. Kenny might need a bigger mantel…
Spiderman – Sony is in talks to with Tobey Maguire and director Sam Raimi to make “Spiderman 4” and possibly “Spiderman 5.” The films would pick up where “Spiderman 3” left off. Sony also continues to develop a musical stage adaption based on the movies. The music and lyrics for the musical are being written by Bono and Edge of U2. Also, Sony is developing a “Venom” spin-off film that might possibly star Topher Grace. The last Spiderman film came out in May 2007. Sony is spinning quite a web…
Serena Williams and Roger Federer – The pair won the women’s and men’s singles tennis titles at the U.S. Open this year. Williams defeated second seeded Jelena Jankovic in two sets to claim her 9th Grand Slam title and reclaim the number one world women’s tennis ranking. Federer beat Andy Murray in straight sets to win his fifth consecutive U.S. Open and 13th major overall. Pete Sampras holds the all time record at 14 major victories.
