10 Recipes with Pumpkin & Spice

Like ice cream during summer, pumpkins are a fall season staple. This year, we think you should make an effort to add some pumpkin to your diet. It wouldn't kill you to try a few new recipes right?

Every Thanksgiving is not the same in my home without my aunt making her famous pumpkin cheesecake. I'm still begging her for the recipe, but I've also been dying to try a few new creations this year too.

Even if pumpkin isn't your favorite thing, some of these creative recipes might surprise you and your palate. Check out a few dishes that caught our eye this week from some of our favorite bloggers.

  • This pumpkin almond pasta dish from Kathy Patalsky is super creamy, but dairy-free. For an extra accent of flavor, Kathy drizzles maple syrup and cinnamon into her tossed pasta.

  • We toyed with the idea of adding pumpkin to our pancakes before, but then turning our pancakes into cinnamon rolls with a sweet mixture of cinnamon, butter and dark brown sugar. Heaven overload! I Heart Naptime came up with this amazing breakfast topped with a cream cheese frosting.

  • Why eat your pumpkin in pie form, when it can be a savory waffle too? A Delighful Dish made these insanely delicious looking pumpkin pie waffles and topped with off with toasted pecans, whipped cream and maple syrup for the ultimate pumpkin treat.

  • How amazing do these pumpkin cupcakes from une gamine dans la cuisine look?! The look of the thick salted caramel frosting looks divine topped with a few sprinkles of brown sugar. This is definitely on my must make list this year!

  • I can't believe I am about to say this: pumpkin beer butterscotch mousse puffs! Concoted from none other than the ever mischievious kitchen of Evil Shenanigans

  • It seems like fall desserts and caramel go hand and hand, which is why I really love this pumpkin caramel pretzel bar from Sugar Crafter who whipped it up with an amazing shortbred recipe that sounds like it's to die for!

  • Pumpkin fudge on a stick is the perfect party treat. The decorated cookie used a can of pumpkin puree with white chocolate chips and spices to really make this a sweet pumpkin treat!

  • Bread pudding is a nice warm dish for the holidays, but this seasonal version from A Cozy Kitchen might be my new favorite way to make it. Full of spices, pumpkin puree and melted butter, this is a comfort food you won't be able to resist.

  • From warm bread to waffles and cookies, this pecan pumpkin butter from Confections of a Foodie Bride might be the best thing to happen to your fall dessert since the inception of Nutella.

  • Portuguese Girl Cooks whipped up this cakey doughnut with pumpkin puree of course, but the best part is, she topped it with a buttermilk spiced glaze. Just sweet enough to be a dessert with all the spice a fall dessert should have.
