Wedding season! What’s not to love? Whether you’re single, engaged, or years into wedded bliss, you can’t help but feel the excitement of the season upon us.  One of the most exciting aspects of an engagement is finding out just how the proposal went down! With help from YouTube and Facebook, it seems these days grooms-to-be are getting more and more creative with how they are asking their sweeties for their hand in marriage.

  • Mid-Air Engagement – Daniel and Amanda

    These two adventurous souls set out on a paragliding trip they’d been planning for months. Once they were in the air with the help of two instructors, they began sailing into the wind. As Amanda tells her sweet story, "We got close to each other in the air and Dan yelled out, 'Can you hear me?'" explained Amanda.

    "I yelled back that I could and then, out of nowhere, he yelled, 'Will you marry me?'" She continued, "I was so shocked! I yelled back, 'Certainly!' and then we finished our flight. Dan landed first and was down on one knee with the ring."

  • Puppy Love – Christopher and Danielle

    Danielle is in love with her fiancée Christopher AND her seven adorable dogs. On a fun lunch hour with her sister, who is also her co-worker, she thought she heard one of her dogs down the street. She was pleasantly surprised by seeing Christopher approaching with their dogs all wearing kerchiefs that read, ‘Will You Marry Me?’

  • Wordplay – Corey and Marlowe

    Corey gets points for being romantic while also having a way with words for his creative proposal. Corey used the Washington Post crossword puzzle to ask Marlowe for her hand. He worked with a crossword writer at the Post to come up with the perfect crossword for his girlfriend, who loves sitting down with it each week. Clues surrounded personal topics like her hometown and their first names. By the end, she solved the blanks: Willyoumarryme?

  • Thanks Bruno Mars! – Isaac and Amy

    This viral video will have you singing along in no time! Isaac gathered up friends, family, and even a marching band to propose to his girlfriend Amy; all to the tune of ‘Marry You,’ by Bruno Mars. Watch the now-viral romantic video here on YouTube

  • He Kept His Cool – Mike and Glenna

    Glenna and Mike both share a love for hockey. What she didn’t realize is how it would all come into play one romantic evening after dinner during a snowstorm, that Mike would propose!

  • A Winning Presentation – Tim and Monika

    Tim and Monika worked together and enjoyed each other’s company so much, they couldn’t resist a romance although their company actually had a policy against office dating. 

    According to Tim, he wasted no time in proposing to his love and did it in a creative but very daring way:  during an office presentation! "One day we were in a staff meeting with our boss and about 30 other employees, I was giving a presentation using a slide projector, crunching numbers about a huge project we had coming up. As I was wrapping up the presentation, I said, 'I have one more thing.'

    "I flipped to the final slide and there it was for the whole office to see. The slide said, 'Monika, Will You Marry Me?'"

  • Fresh Take on a Flash Mob – Danny and Tina

    Danny not only planned out a romantic public proposal to ask his girlfriend, Tina, to marry him, but he enlisted the help of some adorable flash mob dancers!

    Mike loved the romantic notion of proposing to Conny at home surrounded by friends. What better time than game night?

    Mike used his Photoshop skills to create a ‘Marry Me’ card to slip into the board game Pictionary they were playing and won – the game and Conny’s heart with his creativity!
