8 Kids Craft Ideas to Celebrate National Craft Month

March is National Craft Month, and we could not be happier to celebrate!

This month, try giving your kids less TV time and more crafting time. They will love working with their hands and getting creative! Check out our favorite craft ideas for you to try out with your kids this month.

  • These Owl Pillow Boxes from Kerry's Craft Blog are so adorable and cute. We could see these making really cute party favors for a 1st birthday party!

  • You have to be really handy with a power saw for this Dr. Seuss Activity Block craft from Sugar Bee Crafts, but how sentimental would it be to make these blocks for your children?!

  • The Idea Room created this Easter Bunny Gift Bag with patterned paper and even a button nose! This unique gift idea can be easily stuffed with candy or a fun toy for Easter morning.

  • If you are looking for a creative party favor for kids, trying this easy lollipop koozie craft! Sew them into all different kinds of shapes and ask your kids to help you decorate them, like this basketball or smiley face.

  • Finger puppets are always a fun activity, so why not try this tutorial from The Frugal Crafter?! They are really easy to make and kids can get creative by making their puppets different faces. We love the rosey cheeks!

  • Make your own homemade playdough and add some sparkle with this glitter recipe from The Savvy Moms Guide's Amy Kelly and Brianne Van Lierop. Your kids will love helping you make this in the kitchen and they will learn how to make their favorite play toy!

  • Buy some silicone molds and try this cool Alphabet Crayon craft idea from Let's Explore. It looks so easy to do and what a great way to get kids excited about coloring!

  • Get ready for Spring with this Plant Pals craft from Disney FamilyFun. We love the idea of playing with their "hair" and making them all look so fun and unqiue. This would be a great classroom craft too!

  • There are so many crafts out there that use old paper towl rolls, but this mermaid is by far one of our favorites. Red Ted Art let her child go crazy with sequins and sculpting hair out of black tissue paper. The outcome is so cute and definitely a unique craft for kids.

  • If glue and sissors aren't your thing, try an edible craft your kids will love sculpting and creating. These apple rice krispie treats are easy to make and can even double as a cute homemade gift for a teacher.

  • Monograms are in and we are loving this framed letter for a child's room from Better Homes & Gardens. With a deep frame, some cardboard, a wooden letter and a whole lot of buttons, your child can glue together a really cute decor piece for their bedroom.

  • How adorable is this baby bird nest?! Using a few paper products you already have around the house and pom poms, Parents.com shares a really easy tutorial for the little ones to construct their own nest.
