Behind the Scenes at TV Land's "Best Night In"

Recently, I shared my Halloween party ideas, tips and recipes with TV Land's Best Night In.

Here's a look behind the scenes of the show!

  • Sharing my Halloween ideas with TV Land was so much fun! Take a look behind-the-scenes at some of the recipes, decorations and tips we have on throwing a fabulous vampire-inspired Halloween bash on a budget!
  • Your invitation sets the mood for your Halloween party, so make sure it works with your overall party concept. I'm a big fan of the old fashioned paper invite and this one was perfect for my Vampire-inspired fete for Halloween.
  • Greet the adult guests as they join the party with one of my Vampire Kiss cocktails. It's a bloody good way to start the night!
  • Don't forget the kids! Serve this festive mocktail made of apple cider and gingerale to the younger crowd to make sure they get into the Halloween spirit as well!
  • Keep the menu for your Halloween party simple, yet chic. Foods like sliders and spring rolls are easy to make and can be made festive by displaying them on Halloween platters with spooky embellishments like mini-plastic spiders. To stay on budget reuse an old platter by wrapping it in orange duct tape and topping with a Halloween-cut out.
  • A fabulous Halloween cake doesn't have to be expensive! Bake a red velvet cake, coat with cream cheese icing and then use my tips to create a vampy cake that's guaranteed to impress guests.
  • Gummi worms aren't only a perfect accent to the kids' mocktail - they're also a super easy snack to add to your Halloween table. Adults will enjoy indulging in these as well!
  • Pink or red Cockscomb is a fresh, fun accent for mini jack-o-lanterns. This flower has a texture that looks like brains, so the pumpkin will look like its “brains” have been exposed!
  • To make a really special Halloween centerpiece, add a simple arrangement of “Blood” red roses to the center of a painted pumpkin. As a final touch, embellish with store-bought cobwebs stretched over the blooms.
  • Once of the easiest ways to spook up your party space is with cobwebs! Cover bookshelves, tables, ceilings and furniture with this inexpensive accent to mimic the feel of a haunted house.
  • Red decorations are a great alternative to the usual orange ones you find at most Halloween parties. Not only does the color keep with the vampire-theme, it's also makes a statement on a budget.
  • Reuse the red candles you have on hand from Christmas or Valentine's Day. Simply embellish with some Halloween themed decals or stickers to make them pop!
  • Fit for a vampire, red tablescapes are also budget-friendly. Dig into your Christmas or Valentine's Day decorations and find that red tablecloth! Add some cobwebs with mini-spiders and a jack-o-lantern to the spread to create a Halloween feel without banking the bank.
  • Handmade trick-or-treat bags are a fun craft for kids and will also save you money. These candy corn treat bags are simple and inexpensive, but so festive!
  • Halloween gets a fresh, fun makeover when you use red in your design rather than orange, but with my tips and ideas, it stays festive! Happy Halloween!
