Cheerful Cherry Blossom Cocktails

Is it spring yet? After this hellish winter we've been subjected to having, all I want is warm weather, blooming flowers and a lovely spring cocktail.

As Washington D.C. gears up for its annual National Cherry Blossom Festival, and cherry trees bloom all over college campuses and local parks, it's gotten me excited to try a fun and fruity cherry blossom cocktail.

Cherry blossoms are actually native to Japan, and D.C. celebrates its Cherry Blossom Festival to commemorate Japan's gift of all of the gorgeous cherry trees on March 27, 1912. So to pay homage to Japan, most cherry blossom cocktails contain sake. But even with that common element, there are so many different ways to make the seasonal sipper.

Most of these cocktails contain cherry vodka or cherry liqueur, and some sort of fruit juice to make the lovely pink color. To really get fancy, garnish with a cherry blossom for a fun, fruity cocktail that screams "spring." Enjoy with one of our delicious (and gorgeous!) Cherry Blossom Cookies
