Chic No-Carve Pumpkin Designs

Messy orange gunk and the fear of slicing one’s finger off aside, carving up pumpkins into Jack-‘o-Lanterns is always such a blast to do with the family every year around Halloween.

But as fun as it can be to make silly designs with your festive squash, sometimes you just want to add a bit of chic décor to all of the loud and cheesy orange and orange holiday decorations.

Get inspired to make some of these gorgeous DIY designs this year with your pumpkins for a festive, yet chic Halloween decoration display for your front porch, mantle or tablescape. Plus, these designs will fit with your fall décor well past Halloween and into Thanksgiving (just keep an eye out for any signs of rotting under all that glitter).

  • Black and White

To mix up all of the black and orange color schemes of the season, add in some black and white décor as featured on The Simplified Bee. The classic color combo is always simple, yet timeless.

  • Decoupage

If you’re really in a crafty mood, try decoupaging your pumpkins like Confessions of a Plate Addict did with its "Country Living"-inspired designs. You can customize your designs and patterns to fit the rest of your room’s décor, and keep the pumpkins well past Halloween and into Thanksgiving.
  • Vintage Stamps

Much like the decoupaged pumpkin, this postage stamp-covered design just requires some vintage stamps, Mod Podge and some strategic placement. We love the vintage look of this pumpkin from Sweet Paul Magazine (and featured on Pottery Barn’s blog). The colorful stamps add a chic, yet down-home feel to the design.

  • Chevron

The chic pattern isn’t going away any time soon, especially when it comes to DIY and décor. We love the idea of painting your pumpkins in a chevron pattern like My Sweet Savannah. You can even use the natural orange color of the pumpkin in your design. Just be mindful that lining up the tape can be fairly time consuming.

  • Blinged Out Pumpkin

Adding a touch of gold bling anywhere is always a fun and fabulous way to glam up any DIY project, and this pumpkin from The Swell Life is beyond simple to make. You just need tacky glue and some strings of gold Mardi Gras beads. Voila! Glamorous pumpkin.

  • Glitter

Question: Is there anything you can’t glitter? Answer: Absolutely not. Glitter makes everything better. Period. So cover your pumpkins with the sparkly stuff, and add some glam to your fall décor. Teal and Lime tells you how to get the look.
