Creative Holiday Card Displays

Thank goodness for the annual holiday card from friends, family members and acquaintances. How else are you supposed to know what the Johnsons who live across town have been up to all year, or how big little Samantha Smith has gotten?

But as these holiday cards pour into your mailbox faster than an acceptance letter from Hogwarts, it's hard to keep everyone's personalized mementos organized and within reach. You want to display the beautiful designs within sight for the holiday season, but overloading your fridge with smiling family photos and witty anecdotes gets overwhelming

People put a lot of time, effort and money into creating and sending their annual holiday cards, so I always feel bad about stashing the cards away in a hidden place. So instead of looking at the card once and then tossing, or covering your kitchen cabinets with clusters of family Christmas cards, find a more creative way to show off the thoughtful mementos you recieved from your loves ones.

Take a look at your gallery of creative holiday card displays, and get inspired to show off your favorite holiday cards. Bonus: Your friends will love seeing how you displayed their card when they drop by!

  • Christmas (Card) Tree

Hang your favorite card from rustic branches, like the display featured on The Zhush. Put the branches in a big vase or pitcher, and secured with florist foam. Punch a hole in the cards, and hang with your favorite ribbon.

  • Christmas Card Wreath

For a unique and organized Christmas wreath, clip your holiday cards to an embroidery hoop, as shown on Martha Stewart. It's an affordable, but chic way to decorate your home for the holidays.

  • Lovely Lighted Snowflakes

Showing off your fave holiday cards on a strand of glistening snowflake lights is simple and chic. Yellow Bliss Road showed off this Pottery Barn hack, which would look lovely displayed on a mantle or draped on an entryway table.

  • Chicken Wire Collage

You can take your framed display one step further by framing some chicken wire, and hanging the cards with festive clips like Miss Kopy Kat did.

She used her new frame as a collage to hang other Christmas trinkets, such as ornaments and pine cones. So chic!
  • Frame of Mind

Simply stringing your photos within a beautiful frame or mirror makes for a sleek display. Baby Striblings hung their photos with some wire and decorative perals, and secured with paperclips. How beautiful!

  • Rustic Repurposed Wood Display

For a shappy chic display, wrap twine around a few pieces of painted two-by-fours. Paint the wood to match the rest of your decor, and clip the holiday cards with decorative clothespins. This project featured on Shanty 2 Chic shows you how
