Delicious Desserts for March Madness

Every year, the NCAA college basketball season wraps up with a glorious and exciting tournamant. Whether you have a masters in "bracketology" or are just starting out with the basketball basics, everyone can enjoy "March Madness".

Even though you are most likely heading to your local bar to watch the game, it doesn't mean that you can't bring some delicious snacks & treats to enjoy while cheering on your favorite school. If you really want to impress 'em, try one of these delicious recipes.

Don't Feel Like Baking? Score With these March Maddness Treats:

College Popcorn Tins from The Popcorn Factory

Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Basketballs from Fruit Bouquets

For the Love of the Game Basketball Fruit Arrangement from Fruit Bouquets

  • Let's all be honest here for a moment and agree that chocolate added to anything just makes life better. Agreed? Great. Then we are ready to discuss the magic that is chocolate covered bacon. I know the focus is supposed to be on the basketball game but trust me, as soon as you make your entrance with this ultimate snack, all eyes will be on you. Follow this recipe and prepare to amaze.

  • Speaking of salty snacks that can be greatly improved by the addition of chocolate, allow me to introduce Chocolate Covered Potato Chips. And you thought potato chips couldn't get any better, didn't you? All you need is melting chocolate, your favorite brand of chips and you are ready to take these to watch the game.

  • Cupcakes? Great. Mini cupcakes? Even Better. Mini cupcakes that use Nilla Wafers to look like little basketballs? Now we're talking. These adorable creations were featured over on the Cupcakes Take The Cake Blog and while they originally used buttercream frosting and orange sprinkles to create the basketball top, you can easily replicate the look user vanilla wafer cookies and chocolate drizzle (of course).

  • For a one-way ticket to candy bar dessert heaven, check out this recipe for Homemade Butterfingers. Sure, you could just buy candy bars at the store but how amazing does this homemade version look? The best news is that there are only three ingredients (yes really) so there are no excuses.

  • If you don't have a whole lot of time to prepare a dessert before heading off to watch the game but still want to make a big impression, try these quick and easy basketball cookies. All you need are vanilla wafers, a food marker and colorful frosting for the filling. After drawing the lines to make each cookie look like a basketball, all you need to do is add filling and sandwich the two together. Voila! Adorable cookies.

  • This March Madness dessert recipe round-up wouldn't be complete without including at least one aw-inspiring cake. Enter this Final Four Basketball Cake. Using M&Ms or Reeces Pieces, you can create all kinds of pattens and colors based on which team you're rooting for. Sure, this dessert is a bit more involved and time consuming by the end result is pretty impressive.
