Trending Now: Gorgeous DIY Gold Spray Paint Projects

Spray paint is a DIYer's secret weapon, and gold spray paint can turn any plain old object into a trendy, chic piece of home or party decor. Upgrade something as small as shelf tchotchkes, or as big as furniture into something you're really proud to show off – with just one can of metallic gold spray paint!

It's no secret that I'm obsessed with metallic gold, especially in the form of spray paint. I've used it for my DIY Metallic Pumpkin Place Cards, and our lovely contributor Paula Biggs used it for her Elegant New Year's Eve Centerpiece. I've been inspired to spray paint everything from picture frames to bookends, to even fridge magnets.

Take a look at some of my favorite gold spray paint projects to add some touch of glam to your space. Whether you're looking to jazz up your party decor, or want to liven up your living space, a can of spray paint and some household objects will do the trick!

  • Elephant Bookends

Brass and gold bookends make for an eye-catching display on your shelf. But instead of shelling out tons of cash, take some plastic toys, wooden blocks and of course, spray paint and get to work. This project from Irresistible Pets will really blow you away.

  • Gold Leaf Tumblers

Spray painting your drinking glasses is a little tricky. But if you leave the paint at the bottom (and are super super careful when you hand wash them), you can have a classy set of barware that only cost pennies. I'm obsessed with these confetti-style high ball glasses from House of Earnest.

  • Spell it Out

If you've got an old set of magnetic fridge letters, or can find some at your local thrift store, you can give them an adult upgrade easily. Take the colorful plastic magnets and spray them generously for fridge magnets you'll love to show off! Inspired by Charm shows you how it's done.

  • Coffee Table Upgrade

Transform a plain white coffee table into a bright and trendy statement piece with just some blue painters tape and gold spray paint. Check out Better After for the tutorial.

  • Adorable Key Rack

I already have a key rack at my apartment, but after looking at this adorable DIY from Creative Soul Spectrum, I'm considering giving it an upgrade. These adorable elephant toys were cut in half, spray painted gold and attached to a piece of driftwood. It's a cute and inexpensive project for your entryway. (Can't you tell I have a thing for elephants?)

  • Lend me a Hand

Don't just store your favorite rings, display them in a chic way! This polyresin hand display (which cost only a few dollars) was given a fun upgrade with some gold spray paint.Get the easy tutorial on 6th Street Design School End of paragraph.

  • Cute Coffee Mugs

Add some flare to your morning pick-me-up with some gold coffee mugs. All you need for this project, featured on Goowill's Good Stuff blog, are some plain ceramic mugs and painter's tape. Easy as (coffee) cake!
