7 Adorable DIY Valentines for Kids

Will you be my Valentine? The time is quickly approaching when you children will get to experience the joy of handing out cards to all of their classmates. If you can't stand the idea of buying the overpriced boxes Valentines from the store again this year, why not try creating homemade Valentines instead? Here are some of my favorite, unique classroom Valentines for the kiddos.

  • Everyone remembers those fun and delicious candy necklaces, so why not incorporate them into this year's Valentines for your little ones to pass out to their friends? You can purchase these personalized Valentine's Day Cards from Etsy shop Your Pretty Party . She has designs for boys and girls so you can make them for your child's whole class! All you need to do is add the necklaces and you're good to go.

  • How about some sparkly, adorable robot buddies? These little guys are a great homemade Valentine option. With just some simple sequins, glitter and mult-colored construction paper, you and your little one can make some Robot Valentines for their whole class. Use a marker to add the arms, antennas, and a Happy Valentine's Day message.

  • When it comes time for the kiddos to hand out Valentines to their "best mateys" consider making these DIY Pirate Patch Valentines. These sweet Valentines include a pirate eye patch shaped like a heart that you can easily create with felt and string to make an overall adorable card.

  • You know those tiny plastic animals that can usually be found in a toy store discount bin? Well, turns out they can actually be used to create some adorable Valentine's Day cards! These Tiny Animal Valentines are a great DIY option and can be personalized with some super cute sentiments, including "you are dinomite" and "you make my heart jump". Attach each animal figurine with some bakers twine.

  • As you may know, this is the year of the fox, or more specifically, what the fox says. So, if you and you family are in love with all things fox, create these adorable Printable Fox Valentines. You can download the free printables here and attach them to an envelope, clear pillow box, or even simply to a blank piece of paper that little ones can decorate.

  • A ruler, some construction paper, glitter hearts and a little bit of creativity is all you'll need for this next Valentine. These You Rule Valentines are a great non-candy option for kids of any ages. You can purchase wood rulers inexpensively and add your own message for each child to wish their classmates a Happy Valentine's Day!

  • Sure, creepy crawly bugs may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Valentines, but what about if they were love bugs? These Love Bug Valentines are the perfect balance of sweet sentiment and fun that kids will really get a kick out of. You can download the printable jar here here and add some store bought plastic bugs - a.k.a. love bugs!
