Eco-Friendly Spring Garden Party Ideas

Once spring is in the air, the only thought we have is to get outside and enjoy the nice weather. Loving parties of any sort, we're fond of celebrating the season with an outdoor garden soiree.

Celebrations contributor Coryanne Ettiene planned just such a spring-inspired party recently, largely in honor of Earth Day on April 22nd. With pastel hues, eco-friendly decor ideas and light menu options, her spring party is the ideal way to welcome the new season in style.

  • Throughout the entire party, Coryanne incorporates eco-friendly supplies and reusable spring decor. A mixture of natural embellishments, like her wicker basket, and reworked supplies, the chalkboard, Coryanne created a casual atmosphere that was still functional and stylishly spring-inspired.

  • Throw pillows were a big part of keeping this garden party casual. Take advantage of the newly grown grass and sit picnic-style. Lay back and enjoy the fresh air!

  • We're loving chalkboard party ideas lately and this clever use of an old board Coryanne had lying around is darling. A unique display and focal point in her space, we're sure a similarly inspired look at your own party will impress your party guests.

  • Coryanne incorporated two signature spring cocktails into her garden party. The first was this Purple Haze drink, served mason jar style. Not only was she able to concoct special drinks for every guest ahead of time, the mason jar made for easy transport and when ringed with ice along the outside, it kept the refreshment cool, not watered down.

  • The second sip Coryanne served was a Gardener's Tonic. A modern mix on the classic gin and tonic, this cocktail recipe is a bit fresher.

  • Rather than serve dessert in plastic bowls, Coryanne opted for a completely edible idea -- waffle bowls. Filled with fresh, seasonal fruits and a dollop of whipped cream, this dessert is a delightful way to round out your light spring party menu.

  • Open face cucumber sandwiches are crunchy, creamy, fresh and savory all in one bite. These mini appetizers are also made with fresh ingredients from your local market and very own herb garden.

  • Finish off your menu with a little something heavier, and a bit decadent to boot. These no-bake chocolate mud pies have an unexpected ingredient to thank for their creamy texture - you'll just have to find out what it is! Get the dessert recipe.

  • As guests depart, thank them for coming the same way Coryanne did - with plantable potted plants. Literally, these DIY spring party favors go right into the ground. It's the perfect way to end the party on point, and will hopefully encourage your guests to adopt eco-friendly habits in their own lives.
