How To Throw a Honeybee Bridal Shower

Looking for a sweet yet sophisticated theme for your bridal shower? Take a page from our book and throw a honey bee themed event with these buzzing ideas.

Ahh, the sound of honeybees. That means sunny skies and blooming flowers are upon us. Life is blooming all around and love is in the air - that's why honeybees are the perfect theme for your next bridal shower!

Throw your bride-to-be a fabulous honeybee themed bridal bash with these buzz worth ideas!

  • Location is key

When picking a location for your bridal shower, first consider the overall look or theme. This honeybee themed bridal shower made sense to have a rustic and natural look, so we choose to have an outdoor event hosted in a public garden. We rented out a patio space with picnic tables, shaded by tall trees. If you’re throwing a honeybee bridal shower, consider a woodsy location like this. It was beautiful and a perfect fit for the natural bee theme.

  • Sweet as Honey Invitations

Once the location is decided and the date is planned, you can send out the invitations. I made hand-drawn invitations to scan and print out copies including a bee motif and a yellow honeycomb pattern on the back. You can download and print your own DIY Bridal Shower Invites.

  • The Gift Area

The bride will need a place to sit while she opens presents, so remember to make a special place for her. We brought a gray tufted side chair for the “bride-to-bee” to open gifts. Yellow and gray pendants hung from the trees above.

  • The Menu

Food display should also be on-theme. We draped those tables in natural textures like burlap and canvas. It’s a nice touch to include several items on the menu that coordinate with the theme, such as miniature honey buns, a cake with honey-buttercream frosting, and homemade Honey Nut Party Mix.

  • Delightful Decor

The wooden picnic tables worked with the rustic theme, so we skipped the tablecloths on the guest tables. Honeycomb Patterned Table Runners gave each table a touch of color, texture, and pattern that coordinated with the bee theme. The centerpieces consisted of glass jars wrapped in burlap that displayed floral bouquets. The florals were casual with a woodsy feel to fit the natural look of the event. They were clustered with a bear shaped honey bottle and a milk glass bud vase holding dried seed pods and yarrow. We also placed a yellow citronella candle at each table to keep the bugs away!

  • Games to Keep the Party Buzzing

To keep the party going, we played some honeybee-inspired games, including "bride-to-bee" bingo and a theme-friendly trivia game with accompanying honeybee boards.

  • Every Buzz-worthy Party Needs A Favor

We sent guests home with these simple yet elegant Beeswax Candle Favors. One was placed at each setting so that guests wouldn’t forget to bring their gift home with them after the party!
