It's Two O'Clock Somewhere: Mad Men-Inspired Cocktails

Any true Mad Men fans know you can’t have an episode without at least one scene with one of the cast sipping on a cocktail or indulging in a glass of Scotch post board meeting. So it should come as no surprise that the main attraction at your Mad Men party won’t necessarily be the food, but the variety of Don-worthy drinks you have on the table.

It seems like all you really need to be a Mad Men is a form fitting suit and a glass of hard liquor on hand at all time. And of course looking like Don Draper never hurts, either.

  • Don’t be fooled by her dainty appearance, Betty Draper (now Francis) is no wine cooler kind of gal. Her drink of choice varies, but is most commonly a icey cool Tom Collins.

  • It’s not really surprising that Peggy’s preferred drink is the Brandy Alexander – it looks pretty on the outside but this cognac based drink packs a powerful punch right to the chest.

  • Roger Sterling’s decision to stop sipping on his usual Martini and opting for the more youthful Subway Rumbles marked a new chapter in the Mad Men era. Along with choosing a more laid back drink, he also decides to marry the 22-year-old ex secretary, Jane.

  • Season one of Mad Men was filled with countless women going in and out of Don Draper’s life. One of the most memorable was heiress Rachel Menken who enjoyed sipping on the exotic Mai Tai.

  • The classic Bloody Mary makes more than a few guest appearances on the cocktail menu of Mad Men. Whether you like yours as is, or with some extra spice, you have to have at least one version of this drink at your Mad Men party.

  • Pete Campbell just can’t seem to get enough of the big city. As if it isn’t enough he wants to set up his very own love shack in the Manhattan, he’s taken his love one step further by sipping on the cocktail with the same name.
