Mardi Gras Cocktail Recipes

While I'd be thrilled to head to New Orleans for a big Mardi Gras celebration, it probably won't happen. So to partake in the Fat Tuesday celebrations at home I'll mix up a few choice cocktails, invite a couple of my favorite friends over and bake up a Kings Cake, instead. Masks and beads, a must!

A mix of spicy, sweet and zesty, these five Mardi Gras cocktails from Celebrations' contributor Coryanne Ettiene are a great round up of tastes to mix up the menu at my house. They're all inspired by Mardi Gras and the city in the US so popular for the big party it throws every year.

Crank those jazzy beats, break out your cocktail shaker and join us in toasting this all-around fun festival!

  • A spike of Tabasco, pinch of cilantro and dash of lemonade all mixed with a bit of dark rum and Pimms makes this Cajun Lemonade cocktail recipe the perfect choice to toast Mardi Gras with this year.

  • Refreshing and crisp, this next Mardi Gras cocktail recipe goes down nice and easy - so be careful! A classic favorite, Coryanne Ettiene's version of the Bitter Gin, gets all dressed up for this special occasion.

  • The basic cocktail recipe gets a fabulous Mardi Gras spin with a bit of bubbly added to it in this Cajun Sparkler. It's a cinch to pull together and the Champagne twist is the best part!

  • I love the addition of blood oranges in this next Mardi Gras cocktail recipe. It's hard to resist the festive color and sweet taste this easy-to-mix sip offers, but add to that the underlying complexity of flavors in the drink and the Easy Squeeze is a sure hit.

  • Last, but not least, this Mardi Gras cocktail draws on French and Creole flavors, making it one of the most delicious drinks we've ever sipped. It's a real crowd pleaser and really easy to make punch-style if you've got a bigger group on hand to help celebrate Mardi Gras!
