NYC’s department stores have decked their windows for the holidays!

From Macy’s to Bloomingdale's, NYC’s famous and beloved department stores have decked their windows with scenes of holiday celebrations and cheer, and to some browsing them is as much of a Christmas tradition as decorating a tree! Take a joyful tour through NYC with our gallery of our favorite 2013 holiday windows!


  • Macy's

    This year, Macy’s depicts a sweet story of a young girl’s quest to prove Santa’s existence on one side, while the other side of the classic building features scenes of a winter wonderland and words encouraging believing and sharing. One of the windows is even interactive, letting passersby play with digital falling snow!

  • Saks

    If you pass by Saks Fifth Avenue at the right time, you may catch an amazing show on the side of the building! Animated scenes of gifts, snowflakes and the Saks Yeti are projected onto the building set to “Carol of the Bells” above their window displays which tell “The Yeti Story."

  • Lord & Taylor

    Lord & Taylor’s holiday windows depict glamorous scenes of a vintage NYC. The scenes show characters dressed in top hats and elegant dresses enjoying the holiday season. From shopping to dancing, the window characters celebrate the holidays in a most festive and traditional way.

  • Bergdorf Goodman

    Bergdorf Goodman celebrates the holidays with beautifully detailed window displays each based on a different holiday. From Valentine’s Day to Halloween, these windows gorgeously depict special occasions with their unique and elaborately decorated scenes.

  • Barney's

    Barney’s festive holiday windows celebrate NYC with spectacular digital, 3-D and interactive displays. Barney’s presents a glimmering display with the use of projections, mirrors and decorative structures. An additional exhibit even allows you to put yourself into an interactive sleigh ride with Santa!

  • Bloomingdales

    Bloomingdale’s holiday windows festively depict the holiday season around the world! Each scene is shown as a present inside a decorative gift box and range from a beautiful Eiffel Tower in France and a gondolier in Italy to a glistening New York City scene.

    Henri Bendel’s windows feature a celebrity holiday party through the vision of line drawing artist, Al Hirschfeld! Guests including Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Liza Minnelli can be spotted in this celebratory scene.
