Playful Pirate Kids Birthday Party

Costumes, candy and other spooky treats are all fun, but you want to keep in mind that while Halloween offers a ton of party inspiration, this celebration is all about the birthday boy or girl.

The first and most important being to pick out the right invitation and send it out further in advance than you typically would. This is party season, and you want to make sure your birthday boy's or girl's guest list doesn't shrink due to prior commitments.

What's great about these fabulous Pirate Mask Kids Halloween Birthday invitations from Pear Tree Greetings is that they channel children's excitement to wear a costume this time of the year by letting them wear them as masks the second they receive them. Moreover, since the invitations are not Halloween specific guests know this is a birthday party, not a Halloween one.

The classic red and black theme makes incorporating the invitation into the décor simple and stylish regardless of age, gender or time of the year! Check out more inspiration in the gallery above to stage a party just like this one at home!

  • Pirate themes leave so much to the imagination, and are a great theme for a Halloween Birthday party. Keeping the theme of the invitation running through the décor I used plenty of red and black foods, décor and accents to create a simple two tones theme.

  • The striped table cloth created the back drop for the party, bringing the stripes of the invitation right to the table. Giving each guest a pirate name and using named decals atop the buffet table makes the guests feel part of a pirate gang, and gives everyone a reason to dive right into the pirate fun.

  • Accenting with skeleton pirates combined the theme of Halloween and Pirates, without taking to much away from the birthday focus, and continued into the pirate skull fabric that covers the mason jar treasure pots filled with gold candies.

  • The golden cake trays kept the pirate bounty running throughout the table and we placed cannon ball cupcakes to tempt our pirates with on them.

  • The sword decals on the punch pitcher continued the swash-buckling theme without being too invasive on the rest of the décor. Our cherry pomegranate flavored punch recipe was a big hit with the young party guests.

  • For our pirates with a taste for something more fruitful, we served up a classic, homemade fruit punch as well.

  • Our Halloween birthday party featured plenty of interactive fun for the kids, too. First, our little pirates decorated basic sugar cookies with an eye patch design. Then, they got crafty with paint.

  • Everyone loves a party keepsake, and giving your pirate guests a framed photo of the party to take home will ensure that they remember the birthday party long after they finish their cake. These painted pirate photo frames are inexpensive and decorating them is a craft that both boys and girls will enjoy creating.
