Recycled Craft Ideas For Earth Day

April 22 is Earth Day! Crafting with the kids is a great way to teach them how to recycle and reuse while learning about how important the environment is.

There are a number of crafts you can make with your family by recycling old items you probably already have lying around in your home, such as old toilet paper rolls, magazines and plastic bottles. Check out all of the fun recycled craft ideas we found on the Web this week.

  • DIY party favors can be made easily with the inner of a toilet paper roll and some old newspaper or magazines. Tie with a fun ribbon and it's a great way to use the cardboard rolls you usually throw out!

  • Making paper flowers is easy! According to Family Fun, all you need are some old magazines, scissors and a glue stick! How cute would these be to place in a potted plant for a touch of DIY?

  • This bottle cap calendar from Reading Confetti is a great way to recycle old bottle caps. We love how she personalized her calendar with mini pictures for special dates like birthdays or holidays!

  • Instead of throwing away those old jars, have the kids capture their treasures in them like Quiry Momma did. It's a great way to let them explore nature while saving special items they find along the way.

  • Mom It Forward featured this pretty metallic heart made out of old crayons. Anna suggests gifting them as a unique Earth Day present. This would be a great paper weight too for your child's teacher.

  • This denim bead necklace by Crafts by Amanda looks SO cool! Instead of tossing your old pair of jeans, cut the denim into strips and paint with funky colors to create beads.
