Skinny Summer Shakes

Summer is here and there is no better time to try out some new skinny recipes while we are all struggling to fit into our bathing suits. Check out these skinny summer shakes: They taste so good, you would never know they were low in calories.

We are all obsessed with juices, smoothies and shakes during those hot summer days. And while we struggle to complete that juice cleanse, sometimes we just cannot last. Ditch the juicing and opt for one of these great summertime shakes. The best part is that they’re all low-fat, low-cal recipes, so you don’t have to worry about indulging. From shamrock shakes to pomegranate smoothies, there is a recipe to satisfy everyone's needs.

  • The Tropical Storm: A Sweet Summer Shake Recipe

This summer shake incorporates two great summery fruits: pineapples and oranges. The zesty oranges and sweet coconut water pair so nicely. The coconut water and orange sherbet substitute for both ice cream and milk, making this a great skinny shake perfect for summertime.

  • Skinny Shamrock Shake

We all think of the delicious McDonald’s shamrock shakes when we hear the name, but what about getting that great taste with fewer calories? Try out this skinny shamrock shake next time you are craving that minty flavor. Skinny Mom has designed this healthier version of the famous shake by swapping out vanilla ice cream for low-fat frozen yogurt and almond milk for whole milk.

  • Strawberry Fields Spiked Shake

For those of you who want a skinny shake with a little edge try this delicious Strawberry Fields Spiked Shake. Take the simple strawberry-banana smoothie and add your favorite tequila, rum and vodka to make it the perfect spiked refreshing drink for those hot summer days.

  • Chocolate Peppermint Shake

She Knows created this tasty shake that is perfect for the holiday season. Although this may not be the skinniest shake to feature, it still uses low-fat chocolate ice cream and low-fat whipped cream. To make this shake extra special for those colder months, add a splash of Patron tequila and crush up some candy canes for garnish.

  • Pom-Pom Pomegranate Smoothie Recipe

If you aren’t into the typical strawberry or banana shake, opt for this pom-pom pomegranate smoothie instead. This simple smoothie is bursting with flavor and sure to wake you up on those dreaded Monday mornings. To turn this pomegranate smoothie into a delicious skinny shake just add low-fat frozen yogurt and blend!

  • Skinny Bananas Foster Almond Milkshake Smoothie

Savoring the Thyme originally created a bananas foster milkshake and, overtime, they have transformed it into a skinner, healthier version. Swap out 1% milk for vanilla almond milk, ice cream for frozen yogurt, and caramel for honey. These three ingredients alone will save you so many calories! If you plan to make this skinny shake for your kids, add a burst of color with some sprinkles on top.

  • Lychee Coconut Tropical Smoothie

This smoothie is equal parts refreshing coconut water and sweet lychee juice, which makes it big on flavor! The lychee flavor in this drink sets it apart from any other standard smoothie. Garnish the top with some grated coconut and you have a flavorful (and skinny!) summer drink.

  • Skinny Pineapple Shake

Pineapple just embodies the feeling of summer. Babble features this skinny pineapple milkshake that is so easy to make and only requires three ingredients. The key is to use frozen pineapple chunks instead of pineapple juice or other heavier substitutes.

  • Skinny Cookies and Cream Milkshake

We all love cookies and cream ice cream and transforming it into a milkshake can sometimes taste even better on those hot summer days. Personally though, I always feel guilty after drinking one because the ice cream and milk combo can seem so heavy. Sally’s Baking Addiction has created this skinny cookies and cream milkshake with 4 ingredients that will only take 5 minutes. They key? Two large frozen bananas, no ice cream needed!
