Spiked Summer Shake Recipes

There’s not much you can do to improve a sweet shake recipe – except add alcohol, of course. This summer, try shaking up one (or all) of our favorite spiked desserts to sip.

Frothy, sweet, spiked and refreshing, these drink recipes are the perfect prescription to hot summer days and nights.

Whether you’re a chocoholic through and through, or prefer more of a tropical flavor to your summer desserts, we’ve got a spiked shake you’re going to love.

  • Our pomegranate smoothie recipe is one of our favorites thanks to its amazing summertime hue and flavors. We like it as much as a mid-day revitalizing sip as we do as a spiked dessert after dinner. Add a splash of orange liqueur and swap out the creamy yogurt for a frozen one to take this recipe from day to night.

  • Though this creamsicle milkshake was initially made with kids in mind, we’re such fans of the flavors we have to suggest adding a splash of orange liqueur to the vanilla ice cream version for a grown up spiked dessert.

  • When you think summer foods, your mind either immediately screams ice cream or s’more. In our case, it screams both – shake style. Try this recipe with a good splash of marshmallow flavored vodka or chocolate liqueur.

  • Lately, it’s become a big trend to turn the classic margarita into something unexpected. In this case we’re making ours a summer shake . The lime sherbet gets an added punch of tequila and triple sec to turn this recipe into a grown up dessert your friends will love.

  • A blend of rich chocolate ice cream and chocolate stout makes for a surprising, yet delicious spiked summer shake . It can best be described as a grown up root beer float – with extra chocolate flavor!

  • If you’re celebrating a birthday this summer, don’t just turn to the obligatory cake – we’re turning our traditional layered slice into a spiked shake . A careful mix of ice cream, chocolate cake crumbs and a shot or two of chocolate liqueur give a grown-up spin to the childhood favorite.

  • While this summer shake is family-friendly, all it takes is a decent dose of Malibu rum to turn it into the hottest spiked sip for your parties this season. Its tropical flavors will sweetly remind you of your favorite vacation spot in the Caribbean from the moment it touches your tongue!

  • Is it just us or do lychees get a bad rep? This funky sounding ingredient is actually a delicious fruit found in Southeast Asia and makes for an ideal addition to a tropical summer shake . Spike your mixture with your favorite rum to turn this mocktail into a cocktail.
