Throw a Vintage Bridal Shower

We created a one-of-a-kind bridal vintage bridal shower with a multi-generational experience in mind. With DIY vintage design touches, you too can add instant charm to a bridal shower.

There is something so romantic and sweet about a bridal shower with a vintage theme. Our very own Chris Nease created this one-of-a-kind bridal shower while thinking of a celebration with aunts and grandmothers and cousins - a multi-generational experience with the infusion of elderly wisdom and homespun recipes.

  • The vintage theme for this bridal shower is completely DIY, so read on to check out styling tips and do it yourself crafts that will help you to throw this charming and elegant bridal shower.

  • Set the Table

Set the scene with a table placed outside under the welcoming branches of a beautiful shade tree. A color palette of creams and whites with a hint of blue has a serene feel. These gorgeous hydrangeas are trimmed low enough as a centerpiece that encourages across-the-table conversation.

  • Each place setting gets a tin favor box filled with candy and tied with a nametag. Vintage-style paper placemats are gorgeous and frugal, and using clear plates lets the design shine through.

  • Personalized Serve Ware

Add a unique embellishment to guests’ utensils by using a metal embossing set to add monograms to spoons or handles. Then, after the party, give these a quick rinse and let your guests take the monogrammed serve ware home as a keepsake.

  • A Vintage Banner

All you need for this gorgeous and romantic banner are lace doilies that hang over rustic twine. No need to sew - the weight of the fabric will hug the twine and stay on for a gorgeous vintage touch. Hang them anywhere that needs that extra something. You can even hang them indoors, or make mini banners and wrap them around trees!

  • Advice Table

Throwing a shower with an old-time feel means you shouldn’t let all of that good family advice being dished around the party go to waste. Instead, set up your very own advice table! By setting up a table where guests can share words of wisdom or warm wishes for the bride-to-be, everyone gets to reminisce and wax poetic on the virtues of marriage!

  • These adorable clothes pins are dressed up with just a bit of washi tape and are used for guests to pin up their advice. The smallest details can have such a large effect!

  • Chess Pie - A Family Recipe

At your vintage bridal shower, cakes and pies whose recipes have been passed down for generations make a ‘sweet’ touch. This chess pie recipe is a family favorite of Chris’, originating from a great aunt. It’s simple to make, but the taste is amazing. And it’s even better if prepared a day or two in advance so that the flavors have time to blend and ‘marry.’
