Trending Now: Pretty Peonies Styled for Spring Decor

Nothing says spring like the birds chirping, the sun shining and a vase filled with colorful, fresh-cut flowers. The beautiful addition quickly (and easily) livens any room, desk or tablescape.

I love picking up fresh flowers from the local bodega or flower stand any time I get a chance here in New York, but the flower I've recently fallen in love with is the peony. And by the looks of fashion magazines, bloggers, artists and home decor experts, peonies seem to be the "it" flower. I've been seeing arrangements of the large, gorgeous bud everywhere lately, and can't wait to make one myself this spring.

Even though my go-to floral arranging technique involves finding a bunch of (random) flowers from a street-side vendor and placing them in a vase, there are so many cute ways to style this trendy and gorgeous flower. There's spray-painted vases, colorful pitchers and unique combinations. Take a look at some of my favorite looks, and let us know which one is your favorite!

  • Mix-and-Match Brass

Peonies are such a girlie flower, especially in this vibrant fuchsia shade. I love the contrast with these tarnished brass vases. The mixing and matching of the various sizes also adds beautiful depth and texture. Loving this gorgeous spring look from Lonny.

  • Colorful Mix & Unconventional Vase

Peonies also look pretty mixed in with other spring florals, like Devon Rachel showed on her fashion and home decor blog. Bonus points for using a lion canister as a vase! So creative.

  • Clear Glass Bottles

Show off the flower itself with some slim clear vases or bottles, as featured on Intimate Wedding. The clear bottles go nicely with the white peonies, and bring the focus to the flower itself. This site also shows the pink flowers in big blue mason jars -- so cute!

  • Stack of Books

Peonies make a lovely bedside table flower, as shown on Tradtional Home. The shorter round vase looks nice and cozy on top of a stack of vintage books. Extra points for the large bulbs all bunched together for a big arrangement!

  • Over-Sized Vase

Peonies are a pretty big bulb on their own, but they look tiny compared to the big vases that house them in this photo from Lonny. For a beautiful bold display, place your peonies in over-sized vases or jars. The multi-colored flowers look great together, especially in light vases.

  • Pink & Mercury Glass

Keeping with the theme of mixing flowers and metallic, this gorgeous display of flowers in white, pink and fuchsia in trendy mercury glass vases featured on Late Afternoon is absolutely stunning. Pink + silver and mercury glass is always a classy combo.
